Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be an incredibly stressful experience, between deciding what Disney Resort hotel you want to stay at to picking what type of ticket is right for you and choosing from nearly 400 places to eat. Planning your perfect Disney World vacation can take months and, sometimes, you can have questions that can only be answered by the expert Cast Members who work for Disney. For those planning — and all other questions — heading to the chat feature on the Disney World website can be a real help.
The chat feature can be accessed on both the Walt Disney World desktop site, as well as the My Disney Experience App. Sometimes, when the site is particularly busy, the chat is not always available. However, it appears as though Disney is working on ways to help all Guests with their questions in a more efficient way.
Theme park reporter Scott Gustin shared that Disney is currently experimenting with a virtual assistant on its Chat feature. The Virtual Assistant will help Guests find answers to their questions without needing to chat with a Cast Member.
Walt Disney World recently added a “Virtual Assistant” to the app chat. It appears to be an initial test that can only respond to a handful of requests – but it will be interesting to see if they expand its functionality to more topics.

As you can see, the new Virtual Assistant can only help with basic questions at this point, but it is possible that Disney may extend the features of the assistant if they find Guests are really benefitting from it. At this time, the Virtual Assistant is only available on the My Disney Experience app.
If the Virtual Assistant cannot answer your question, the chat feature on My Disney Experience will allow Guests to ask whatever Disney-related questions they have, but a Cast Member may not respond right away. You will get a notification when the Cast Member responds. The Walt Disney World Resort website also provides various phone numbers that Guests can call for questions about hotel reservations, help with dining, tours, MagicBands, and more.
