Largest Disney Store in the World Makes Immediate Change for Guests
Finding the West Side entrance to World of Disney at Disney Springs just got a whole lot easier now that the store’s signature marquee sign has finally returned after nearly a year away.
The Sign That Went Missing

In July 2025, the illuminated entrance sign on the West Side of World of Disney — the largest Disney Store on Earth — was removed without explanation. The iconic multicolored block lettering and golden cursive “Disney” script that had long helped guests locate the sprawling merchandise location were replaced with canvas banners and window decals. After dark, especially, the temporary substitutes made the West Side entrance harder to spot.
Walt Disney World Resort said nothing about the removal and gave guests no indication of when the situation would be resolved.
Back in Business

On April 8, the marquee returned. WDWNT reported that a new light-up sign had been installed at the West Side entrance, restoring the store’s most recognizable exterior feature after sitting dark for the better part of 9 months. The replacement is an exact match for the original, with the same multicolored lettering and the same iconic cursive Disney signature in gold.
With the new sign in place, the canvas banners came down. Two window cling decals were still visible on the storefront at the time of reporting, though those will likely be swapped out when Disney rotates in its next round of seasonal window displays.

Walt Disney World Resort has not commented on the project or explained the reason for the original removal. Given that the new sign is visually identical to its predecessor, the most logical conclusion is that the original succumbed to wear or an electrical problem. However, that remains unconfirmed.
