Disney Restaurants Make Surprising Change to Kids Menu – Here’s What’s Gone

At Disneyland Resort, dining is part of the magic, with diverse and delicious menu offerings that cater to guests of all ages. The themed eateries throughout the parks are known for serving up some truly unique and memorable dishes — from the mouthwatering birria ramen at Disney California Adventure to the satisfying Monte Cristo sandwiches at Disneyland.

However, recent changes to the kids’ menus at two popular Disneyland dining spots have left families wondering how these shifts might impact their visit. If you’ve dined with little ones at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in Disney California Adventure or Alien Pizza Planet in Disneyland Park, you may have noticed a subtle, yet significant, change.

Both of these restaurants have recently trimmed their kids’ menu options, leaving many to speculate about the reasons behind the cuts. The elimination of the mini personal pizzas—long a go-to option for children—is a notable change.

These pizzas were previously the perfect portion for younger guests, accompanied by a choice of drink and healthy sides like yogurt smoothies or carrot sticks. But now, it seems that these beloved dishes are no longer on the menu.

The loss of these personal pizzas could be due to a variety of factors, including lower demand or the rising cost of ingredients. Disney has not officially confirmed the exact reason, but it’s likely that if enough guests were not choosing the smaller pizzas, maintaining them on the menu might no longer make financial sense for the company.

Despite these changes, both restaurants are still offering alternative choices for kids. At Boardwalk Pizza, the new kids’ menu features a hearty dish of spaghetti with turkey meatballs, paired with a Cuties mandarin orange, yogurt, and a choice of milk or water.

Meanwhile, Alien Pizza Planet continues to serve two beloved favorites: macaroni and cheese and space-getti with meatballs. These dishes also come with a side of carrots, a Cuties mandarin, and a drink.

While these reductions might be disappointing for some, there are still plenty of family-friendly dining spots around Disneyland Resort where kids can enjoy satisfying meals. For example, Flo’s V8 Café serves up dishes like Chicken Fenders and a version of mac and cheese, while Smokejumpers Grill offers a hearty Double Basecamp Burger. Even Aunt Cass Café has got kids covered with turkey sandwiches and more.

These places continue to offer excellent options for younger guests who might prefer a traditional dining experience.

Disney is also ensuring that the culinary experience remains fun for families by offering special items during the Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary celebration. The limited-time Kids Pick menu features tasty treats like the Celebration Macaroooon at Alien Pizza Planet and the Mickey Hat Cookie from Jolly Holiday Bakery and Café.

Though the cuts to the kids’ menu at Boardwalk Pizza and Alien Pizza Planet might cause some disappointment, there are still plenty of great dining options around Disneyland Resort that cater to the youngest of visitors. Whether you’re enjoying a fun snack or a full meal, there’s no shortage of options to keep everyone satisfied.
