Disney Replaces ‘Goosebumps’ with New Supernatural Series

Fans of spooky, supernatural series on Disney+ may be wondering what’s next after the Goosebumps show wrapped up its two-season run. While many fans of the series are still processing its untimely cancellation, Disney has something fresh in the works that promises to deliver a similar eerie vibe.

The network is setting the stage for a brand-new supernatural series set to fill the void left by the departure of Goosebumps, and it comes with some exciting twists and turns.

Though Goosebumps held audiences captive with its spine-tingling storylines, the show has now officially been replaced by another project that aims to capture the attention of both old and new fans of supernatural thrillers.

Disney has greenlit a new series that’s sure to bring an even more mysterious edge to its programming. But what is this new series, and how will it compare to the stories that fans have come to know and love?

Goodbye, Goosebumps,  Hello, Eerie Prep

After much anticipation, Disney has unveiled a new series that will replace Goosebumps on the streaming platform. The upcoming series, which is based on the book series Eerie Elementary by Jack Chabert (pen name used by writer Max Brallier), will be a supernatural mystery that captures the thrills of its predecessor.

According to a report from Deadline, Disney has given the green light to the show, which will now be known as Eerie Prep.

In Eerie Prep (aka Eerie Academy), when her sister vanishes from the prestigious Eerie Prep, Sam Graves (Mills) assembles a team of uniquely skilled students to uncover the truth behind a series of strange, supernatural occurrences—and to confront whoever, or whatever, is behind the disappearance.

The main cast of the pilot, written by David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan, directed by Eric Dean Seaton and showrun by M. Raven Metzner, also includes Niko Ceci (I Woke a Vampire), Charlie Ellis, Madison Rojas, Michaela Russell and Alex Bar, with Hanna Huffman and Felicia Day guest starring.

Ceci and Ellis play Sam’s best friends Antonio and Lucy, respectively. Rojas plays Paxton, Russell plays Krla, Bar plays Devon, Huffman plays Quinn, and Day plays Dr. Brewster.

Disney also shared that the new series will have some key differences from the book series. Disney has aged up the characters, so the show will take place at a prep school, and not an elementary school. Sam has also been changed from a boy to a girl for the new show.

This is not the first time a series written by Mr. Brallier has been turned into a successful series. Mr. Brallier also wrote The Last Kids on Earth, which ran for three seasons on Netflix.

Although Disney has not yet announced a release date for Eerie Prep, the fact that the series has already been greenlit is enough to excite fans. Given its compelling premise and talented cast and crew, Eerie Prep could be the next big thing in supernatural television.
