After Slashing Hotel Prices, Disney Parks Unveil Mega Discounts for Merchandise
Disney parks on both sides of the Atlantic are rolling out fresh discounts this week, pairing reduced hotel rates with major merchandise markdowns as the company looks to stimulate demand during the slower winter season.
In Europe, the shift is most visible at Disneyland Paris, where a resort-wide sale is set to begin just days after the closure of a longtime retail fixture.

In the United States, Walt Disney World Resort has also unveiled new offers, including hotel discounts and package incentives aimed at both domestic travelers and Florida residents.
Together, the moves signal a coordinated push across Disney’s parks division, which has spent the past year recalibrating pricing, inventory, and guest incentives amid changing travel patterns.
At Disneyland Paris, the discounts arrive during a period of visible transition. Over the weekend, the resort permanently closed its Disney Store in Disney Village.

The shop was one of the last remaining examples of the classic Disney Store format, known for dense theming and character-driven displays that have largely disappeared elsewhere.
Disney Village, the resort’s shopping and entertainment district, has increasingly shifted toward more streamlined retail concepts aligned with newer merchandise strategies.
The closure clears the way for Disney Wonders, a new store expected to reflect that modernized approach.
At the same time, guests visiting Disneyland Paris in early January will benefit from a resort-wide merchandise sale tied to France’s national winter sales program.
Discounts Expand in Paris
Disneyland Paris launches its winter sale today, operating under France’s government-regulated retail calendar.

Winter sales traditionally begin on the second Wednesday of January at 8 a.m., or the first Wednesday following January 12, with strict rules governing pricing and duration.
As part of the program, discounts will be available across Disney Village as well as inside Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
World of Disney will serve as the central shopping hub for the sale.
Previous winter sales at the resort have included markdowns on Spirit Jerseys, mugs, hats, hoodies, and seasonal apparel, with discounts reaching as much as 70% in some cases.

This year, Disneyland Paris is offering early access to select guests.
Holders of a Disneyland Pass will be able to enter World of Disney at 8 a.m. on January 7 by showing their pass at the entrance.
Non-passholders will be admitted from 9 a.m.
The strategy mirrors recent retail rollouts across Disney parks, prioritizing loyalty programs during high-demand shopping periods.
U.S. Parks Roll Out Parallel Offers
The push for discounts is not limited to Europe.
This week, Walt Disney World introduced new promotions that significantly reduce the cost of on-site stays and vacation packages.
Select packages now include two free nights and two free park days when bundled with qualifying hotel stays.

Disney is also offering discounts of up to 30% on Disney Resort hotels, depending on the travel window and resort category.
Additional savings are available for Florida residents and Annual Passholders, with deeper discounts than those offered to the general public.
Discounts come in the wake of declining attendance at Disney’s domestic parks while the company continues to invest in new attractions.

Recent years have brought a wave of closures and changes across Disney resorts, from retired attractions to reworked retail and dining concepts.
At Disneyland Paris, the merchandise sale also ties into the Disneyland Pass Adventure Rendez-Vous program, which offers rotating perks ahead of the opening of Disney Adventure World.
That expansion — currently known as Walt Disney Studios Park — is scheduled to debut its reimagined identity in March.
Passholder offerings under the program include a French-language movie marathon of Frozen (2013) and Frozen 2 (2019) on January 10 and 11.

Additional previews are expected later this year, including early access to World of Frozen ahead of its March 29, 2026, opening.
For now, guests visiting Disneyland Paris will experience an unusually seasonal backdrop.
Heavy snowfall across France has dusted the resort, with cast members clearing walkways and attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad coated in snow.
