On the third and final day of the 2022 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, during the Disney Parks panel hosted by Disney’s President of Parks, Experiences, and Products, exciting news was shared about Disney Cruise Line and about upcoming events and additions to Disney Parks around the world.
D’Amaro unveiled the name of the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet–the Disney Treasure, and new meet-and-greet experiences were announced for Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, including a chance to meet Mando and Grogu and well as Hulk. And Disney execs even talked about their “blue sky” project, which envisions a whole new Guest area behind Big Thunder Mountain at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom that could eventually be home to an exciting new Encanto-themed land and a long-hoped-for Disney Villains-themed land.

But one of the most exciting announcements was about a new themed land at Disneyland Resort–San Fransokyo Square–inspired by Disney’s Big Hero 6 (2014). Imagine walking the streets of the fictional city of San Fransokyo, where Hiro Hamada lives with his Aunt Cass. San Fransokyo is the setting for all the heroic fun that plays out in Big Hero 6, and D’Amaro announced a reimagining of the Pacific Wharf area of Disney California Adventure which would result in San Franksokyo coming to life for Guests of the California Disney Resort.
