Disney Park Sports New Paint For Pride Month
Disney Parks are not shy about showing their pride, gladly capitalizing on all the rainbow-colored possibilities. Just last week, Disney Parks revealed all the Pride-themed treats coming to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida as well as Disneyland Resort in California.
Pride Month officially kicks off tomorrow and goes all June long. Some eagle-eyed fans noticed a new art installation at Orlando’s EPCOT theme park. The mural turned up next to Connections Cafe in the Innovations East section of the theme park.
This 2023 mural incorporates upward-reaching columns of color with a heart at the top of each streak. The red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple represent the core symbol of LGBTQ+ Pride. The black and brown stripes advocate for LGBTQ+ people of color. Finally, pink, white, and light blue represent transgender individuals.
Across the color bars, the word “love” is written. Underneath is an illustration of the top of the EPCOT ball, outlined in rainbow colors. The colors also seem to shine down and reflect off of the white geometric shapes of the sphere’s surface.
In previous years, Pride murals have popped up all over Disney property. Guests have enjoyed vibrantly colored wall murals at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom theme park, as well as Disneyland park. See above how artists transformed Magic Kingdom’s social media famous purple wall into LGBTQ+ art in 2022! Below is one from Disney Springs that shows Mickey Mouse’s iconic white gloves holding a rainbow-striped heart.
Last year the murals were such popular photo opportunities that Disney left them up into July for Guests to enjoy and snap selfies with. Images of this year’s EPCOT mural have already flooded the internet. Hopefully, we’ll see some more wall murals pop up at other Disney Parks locations throughout the month!
Disney sure does host a magical pride.
