Surprisingly, none of these movies will hit the big screen until 2024. Hopefully, this will give Disney enough time to promote and advertise the film to excite fans.

The First Omen- April 5

The first movie Disney is hoping to hit big is The First Omen. This 20th Century Studio film features Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, and Billy Nighy.

A supernatural horror film, this film focuses on an American sent to work in Rome, where she discovers a dark conspiracy.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes- May 24

This will be the fourth film based on the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise. This new film will take place 300 years after War for the Planet of the Apes (2017). In the new movie, the apes are the dominant species, and humans now live in the shadows.

With a solid following, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is one movie in 2024 that Disney has high hopes for regarding the box office.

Inside Out 2- June 14

Fans are thrilled for the sequel of the beloved 2015 Pixar film Inside Out (2015). In the second movie, Riley has grown into a teenager and faces even more emotions.

As she faces new emotions, including anxiety, new characters join the film. Inside Out was a massive hit with fans of all ages, and we anticipate that Inside Out 2 will be just as popular. Pixar did a fantastic job giving character to our emotions in the first movie, and we can’t wait to see how they bring new emotions into the second film.

Untitled Deadpool- July 26

Ryan Reynolds will be back in 2024 with Deadpool 3. Joining Reynolds will be Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. MCU has stated that not only will this film play a huge role in the Multiverse Sage, but it will also be the only MCU movie in 2024.

This film has much going for it and should see high numbers at the box office. The combination of Reynolds and Jackman alone will bring in a lot of viewers.

Untitled Alien Event Movie- August 16

Not much is known about this film that will take place between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), becoming the ninth movie in this franchise. Even with little known about the movie, it is set to release in August of 2024.

The Amateur- November 8

Based on a 1981 novel, The Amateur highlights a CIA cryptographer who loses his wife during a sudden terrorist attack. When he can’t get help from the CIA, he blackmails the agency to help him train as an agent to go after the killers himself.

A strong cast featuring Rami Malek, Rachel Brosnahan, Laurence Fishburne, and Julianne Nicholson bring high hopes to this film.

Mufasa: The Lion King- December 20

Fans will get a never-before look at the story of Mufasa in this highly anticipated film. The film will tell Mufasa’s story and rise to power in the Pride Lands. Beloved characters such as Timon, Puma, and Rafiki will all be a part of the film.

The live-action The Lion King (2019) was breathtaking, and we look forward to another beautiful film with a whole new story.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
