For many actors and actresses, the dream is to star in a major motion picture and have millions of people praise their work. They work hard and take on a number of roles in the hope that they will be noticed and that their current roles can lead to future ones. And it would be the pinnacle of their career if they could star in movies that they know will be hits, like Marvel superhero movies, most Disney movies, or even action-filled franchises and historical mega-dramas.

Chris Pratt began acting when he was 21 years old, and just a couple of years into his journey, he was cast in the popular show Everwood. Then, in 2009, three years after Everwood ended, he was cast in the show that would change his life. Pratt snagged the role of Andy Dwyer in the hit NBC comedy show Parks & Recreation, where he starred alongside Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, and Rashida Jones.

From there, Pratt’s career continued to skyrocket, and in 2014, he became a huge part of the Disney and Marvel family. He was cast in the starring role of Peter Quill (AKA Starlord) in Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then, he has reprised his role in a ton of Marvel movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor: Love & Thunder (2022), and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (2023).
Mr. Pratt also starred as Owen Grady in the new Jurassic World franchise and most recently voiced one of the world’s most famous cats, Garfield. He also voiced one of the most classic video game characters there is, Mario. On the Disney side, Pratt provided the voice for Barley Lightfoot in the 2020 Disney/Pixar film, Onward.
While Pratt is grateful to be where he is and have the opportunities he does, he is always aware that things could change on a dime. He also knows that fame can sometimes lead people down dark paths, and that fame at a young age can have some serious adverse effects.

In a recent interview with The Talks, Pratt discussed what he has learned during his years in front of the camera and why he is glad he wasn’t a child actor.
It would have been different if I were younger, so I think there is a reason that it’s happening now. I’ve gleaned enough wisdom through some experiences to understand what is going on a little bit and hopefully not become a huge toolbox through all of this. I think when you are younger and hit a certain level of success you can lose perspective really quickly.

He also said that he thought a slow growth in the entertainment industry was really what was best for his mental health, but that doesn’t mean things can’t change.
I’ve struggled enough and it’s been a slow enough growth that I’m not going to freak out or anything. Hopefully! We’ll see. Mark my words… “Chris Pratt found naked high on meth on I-405 claiming he was abducted by aliens.” We’ll see when I have my mental breakdown. We’ll come back to this interview.
Despite starring in some of the most popular movies in recent years, Mr. Pratt is staying humble and said that he would be happy to do whatever acting jobs come his way. Even if that includes things like selling dog food or herpes medication. He just loves the fact that he can pay his bills through the career he has always dreamed of.
And The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) star doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon. He has several movies in various stages of production, including The Electric State, Mercy, and Way of the Warrior Kid. On top of that, he and wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, are busy raising their two young children. He also shares a son with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
