Disney enthusiasts and travelers seeking an exclusive, adults-only escape have reason to celebrate as Disney Cruise Line unveils an exciting addition to their roster of magical destinations.

Set to debut in 2024, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point offers a chance to experience the typical Disney charm in a private island setting. While much of the area is a place for families and children, the company confirmed another adult-only beach away from the hustle and bustle of typical family-friendly Disney adventures.

This latest development from Disney Cruise Line is a part of the broader trend in the cruise industry, catering to a diverse range of travelers, including those looking for a more refined and relaxing vacation experience. Here’s a glimpse at the new areas Disney revealed for Lookout Cay.

Lighthouse Point’s Serenity Bay: An Adult-Only Oasis

The jewel in the crown of this new destination is Serenity Bay, an exclusively adult retreat for visitors aged 18 and older. This beachfront haven promises a serene escape from the world, where guests can unwind on pristine shores, bask in the sun, and take in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Bahamas.

Serenity Bay isn’t just about sunbathing; it also offers a unique dining area where guests can savor delectable cuisine in a serene and elegant setting. For those who seek even more privacy, private cabanas will be available for reservation, ensuring a secluded and luxurious experience.

Disney fans will recognize the name Serenity Bay from its sister location on Disney’s Castaway Cay. While the name hasn’t changed, this new spot will be an additional location for Disney adults to relax.

Disney is also wholeheartedly embracing Bahamian culture with its offerings on Lighthouse Point.

Mabrika Cove is the island’s welcoming point. “Mabrika,” a word derived from the Taino language, symbolizes “welcome.” Here, Disney goes all in on cultural appreciation, immersing guests in the warm embrace of Bahamian traditions.

Through vibrant displays and engaging experiences, visitors can truly appreciate the language, customs, and hospitality of the indigenous Lucayans, fostering a deep connection to the roots of The Bahamas.

Disney brings the essence of Junkanoo to life through music, parades, singing, dancing, and drumming at Goombay Cultural Center. The brilliantly colored pavilion and Junkanoo-inspired arch create an immersive experience that deepens one’s appreciation for the vibrancy of Bahamian festivities.

At Triton’s Trumpet Stage, Disney seamlessly integrates nature and culture. This stage offers family-friendly entertainment inspired by the environment, forging a harmonious connection. Disney encourages guests to appreciate not only the arts but also the beauty of the Bahamian landscape, fostering a holistic understanding of the island’s charm.

Finally, in Treasures of Eleuthera, Disney puts the spotlight on Bahamian artists. This retail shop is more than just a store; it’s a gallery of locally made gifts and artisan crafts. By offering unique items created by Bahamian artisans, Disney encourages guests to appreciate the creativity and artistry of the local culture. Visitors can take home these treasures as tangible expressions of their cultural appreciation.

Furthermore, Disney is hard at work on three new ships. The Disney Treasure launches next holiday and will include Lighthouse Point in its ports. The Disney Adventure releases the following year and will make its home in Singapore. A third unnamed ship is also in development.

Disney doesn’t offer many new adult-only experiences. While this one is a bit out of the way, those who have visited Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay can confirm that it is one of the best adult-only offerings the entertainment giant has for vacationers.
