Disney Is Taking ‘Home Alone’ Fans on the Ultimate Holiday Adventure!
It’s hard to imagine the holiday season without certain films that instantly transport us back to childhood. From cheerful carolers to snowy city streets, these movies capture the very essence of festive magic. Among them stands one unforgettable story about a mischievous boy, a big empty house, and two burglars who had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
For decades, this film has been a staple for families who cozy up year after year to laugh, cringe, and cheer at its mix of slapstick chaos and heartfelt holiday spirit.

First released in 1990, Home Alone quickly became a generational classic. The movie follows eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, who is accidentally left behind when his family rushes off to Paris for Christmas. At first, Kevin revels in his newfound independence—until he learns that the not-so-bright but persistent Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), plan to rob his house.
Kevin’s clever traps and his mother’s desperate race home (with Catherine O’Hara delivering an unforgettable performance) combined to create a timeless comedy that resonates to this day.

The success of the film was undeniable. Home Alone dominated the box office and became a pop culture sensation. Two years later, the McCallisters returned to the big screen in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, where Kevin mistakenly boards a plane bound for Manhattan while the rest of his family heads to Florida.
Once again, Kevin ends up squaring off against Marv and Harry, this time in the Big Apple’s most iconic locations—including a luxurious stay at the Plaza Hotel.
Although there are now six films in the Home Alone franchise, it’s those first two, both starring Culkin, that remain closest to fans’ hearts.
