It’s a bittersweet moment for Home Alone (1990) fans as members of the McCallister family reunited for the first time in over 30 years, rekindling holiday nostalgia. This joyful occasion follows a tense chapter in the franchise’s history when Disney+ briefly removed the beloved Christmas classic from its streaming library.
The Home Alone Reunion
The cast of Home Alone recently gathered for a fan meet-and-greet at Pandora’s Box Toys & Collectibles in Lafayette, New Jersey. Fans were thrilled to see several familiar faces from the McCallister family, who came together to celebrate one of the most iconic holiday films of all time.
Pandora’s Box Toys & Collectibles shared photos of the event on Instagram, writing:
“Guys, I’m eating junk and watching rubbish! You better come out and stop me!!! Today’s event was so much fun! Thank you to Devin Ratray @devinratray, Kristin Minter @kristin_minter, Michael C Maronna, Angela Goethals @g0ethals, Jed Cohen, and everyone who came out to meet them and celebrate their Home Alone fandom with all of us today here at @pandorasboxtoysandcollectibles. Fans had the opportunity to meet Kristin Minter (Heather McCallister), Michael C Maronna (Jeff McCallister), Devin Ratray (Buzz McCallister), Angela Goethals (Linnie McCallister), and Jedidiah Cohen (Rod McCallister). Notably absent from the reunion was Macaulay Culkin, who starred as Kevin McCallister in the first two Home Alone films.
Disney+ Controversy
The cast reunion comes just a year after Disney+ briefly removed Home Alone and its sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), from the streaming platform in November 2023. The change came during a broader content purge by The Walt Disney Company, sparking panic among fans who feared losing access to the holiday classics for good.
Disney+ later clarified that the removal was temporary, caused by a licensing dispute, and the 20th Century Fox films returned to the platform just weeks later.
