Disney Has Totally Missed the Mark With Toy Story Land’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant

Walt Disney World Resort’s newest restaurant has been highly marketed, long-awaited, and incredibly anticipated.

However, now that it’s about to arrive, many fans feel that Disney has totally missed the mark and gone about it entirely wrong.

Make no mistake about it: Toy Story Land is one of the coolest additions to Hollywood Studios. Guests shrink down to the size of a toy and wander through Andy’s backyard.

The themed land features three signature attractions: Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania. Guests can also meet beloved Toy Story characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Jessie, and Sheriff Woody himself.

However, the themed land only featured one restaurant: Woody’s Lunch Box. This quick service location isn’t bad by any means, but it’s not as extensive as the widely popular area deserves.

That’s why fans were incredibly excited when the Walt Disney Company announced its plans for the Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ is incredibly immersive, and the interior fits in perfectly with the whimsical theme of Toy Story land. While the restaurant opens to the public on March 23, some previews have been held.

Recently, one TikToker was able to secure a preview. But when he uploaded a review of this exciting new restaurant, fans of the Toy Story series were vocal about their distaste for the concept.

One TikTok user writes, “Literally perfect opportunity for a Pizza Planet and they still are holding out on us.”

Another TikTok user agrees, writing, “They really should have put a big, huge [Pizza Planet] with the arcade and everything!!

User @The_J3NN writes, “Because if there’s one thing I associate with Toy Story….it’s barbecue.

And TikTok isn’t the only social media website with fans upset about the concept.

Fans will remember that Pizza Planet is the arcade Andy visits in the first Toy Story (1995) film, where Woody and Buzz attempt to reunite with the boy only to be captured by Sid (Andy’s sadistic neighbor). It turns out that audiences still want to visit Pizza Planet, and Disney has missed the perfect opportunity to make those dreams a reality.

Has Walt Disney World missed the mark, or is there simply no pleasing everybody? Unfortunately, it seems like the answer is a little bit of both if these comments are anything to go by!
