Heads up Disney guests, we have a P.S.A. for y’all!

Disneyland Resort is known as “the Happiest Place on Earth,” while Walt Disney World holds the title of “the Most Magical Place on Earth.” Both are undeniably enchanting, yet some common park habits can occasionally dim the sparkle for fellow visitors even in this land of magic.

Based on a recent social media discussion about Disney fans’ pet peeves, here are some of the most annoying behaviors to avoid during your Walt Disney World vacation.

1. Reciting Attraction Scripts

One recurring gripe among Disney fans is guests reciting pre-show scripts or talking loudly over them. As user BonesFGC pointed out, “There’s speakers for a reason, I can hear the intended audio just fine.”

While sharing your Disney knowledge is fun, doing so loudly can distract others and disrupt the immersive experience. It’s akin to singing along during a live performance—thoughtful at heart but potentially disruptive for those around you.

2. Bright Screens During Attractions

Another common issue is the use of bright screens on cell phones. User EmmePink highlighted the problem, stating, “People on their phones – bright screens, FaceTime, and ‘whispered’ calls as well. Can’t handle it.”

Whether it’s a video, a call, or simply scrolling through social media, the glow from screens can be intrusive, particularly in darkened attractions. Keeping your phone tucked away during rides and shows helps maintain the magical atmosphere for everyone.

3. Distracting Phones During Fireworks

Capturing memories of the fireworks can be tempting, but raising phones or tablets above your head to record or livestream can block the view for others.

As many guests have noted, this can significantly diminish the experience for those behind you. Instead, consider enjoying the show with your eyes and heart, and leave the phone in your pocket or bag.

4. Haunted Mansion Monologue Enthusiasm

The Haunted Mansion’s iconic monologue is a favorite among Disney enthusiasts, but some guests’ enthusiasm to recite the lines aloud can be a distraction. Many have experienced this firsthand, with the familiar “Welcome, foolish mortals…” being repeated by fellow guests.

While it’s hard to resist joining in, try to enjoy the attraction without vocalizing the lines—your fellow guests will appreciate it.

5. General Park Etiquette

Maintaining courteous behavior throughout your Walt Disney World visit is crucial. Whether it’s waiting your turn, being considerate of personal space, or refraining from disruptive behaviors, practicing good park etiquette helps ensure that everyone can enjoy the magic.

Remember, sometimes you need to be the magic you want to see in the world, so think, “What Would Mickey Do?”

By keeping these tips in mind, you’ll help ensure that everyone can enjoy the magic of Walt Disney World to the fullest!
