In just a few short months, Walt Disney World Resort is expected to open its newest ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The ride will be located at the Xandar Pavilion in the World Discovery neighborhood. It will be a massive indoor roller coaster — much like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios — and has taken the place of Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Anyone who rode Ellen’s Energy Adventure before it closed knows just how large the inside of the building is, so it is exciting to think about the type of roller coaster that can be designed.
As of right now, Disney has not given an exact opening date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. However, a Disney Executive who rode the coaster let it slip that it is expected to open on Memorial Day weekend. Well, that time is fast approaching and Disney is now giving Guests a sneak peek of what the area will look like when they enter the ride queue.
Take a look at the incredible pictures shared by Disney.
Not only did Disney share multiple photos of the Cosmic Rewind attraction with fans, but they also shared an extended video via TikTok. You can watch the video below.

Here is more information on Disney’s newest ride — which will feature Disney’s first reverse launch.
Begin your adventure by touring the Galaxarium—a planetarium-like exhibition showcasing the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth’s galaxies. You’ll even get to discover some of the incredible wonders of Xandar and learn about their technology.
Just as you are about to reach the culmination of the tour, everything goes sideways, and you are called into action to help the Guardians of the Galaxy. Are you ready to rock out on an awesome quest across the cosmos to save the galaxy? It’s all up to you!
This family-friendly attraction features the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world! A new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering—this coaster rotates 360 degrees so you can focus on the action!
As every theme park enthusiast knows, no ride is complete without a gift shop attached to it. Disney recently shared that a store called Treasures of Xandar will open along with the ride. There, Guests will be able to purchase some truly unique Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise, as well as items carefully curated by the shop’s owner, The Broker.
