Disney Demolishes Another Ride, Leaving Theme Park With Just Six Attractions
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park lost another attraction overnight, bringing the park’s already limited ride count down to just six. The demolition of TriceraTop Spin, a longtime favorite in DinoLand U.S.A., marks another major step in the transformation of the area into a new Tropical Americas land.
TriceraTop Spin Vanishes Overnight
Between park closing on February 24 and opening on February 25, construction crews swiftly removed TriceraTop Spin, which had stood in DinoLand U.S.A. for 22 years. While demolition in the land had been ongoing for weeks, guests were surprised to see the entire ride gone seemingly overnight.
Photos shared by @Laughing_place on X (formerly Twitter) confirm that TriceraTop Spin has been completely removed from sight, leaving only scattered remnants of the former land behind construction walls.

DinoLand U.S.A. Disappears Piece by Piece
The ongoing demolition follows the January 12, 2025, shutdown of multiple DinoLand U.S.A. attractions, including:
- Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures
- Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama (including the Fossil Fun Games)
- TriceraTop Spin
Since then, construction walls have gone up, and demolition has progressed rapidly. With TriceraTop Spin’s disappearance, very little of DinoLand U.S.A. remains visible.
Animal Kingdom Now Has Just Six Rides
With TriceraTop Spin permanently removed, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is now left with only six operational attractions:
- Wildlife Express Train
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
- Avatar Flight of Passage
- Na’vi River Journey
- DINOSAUR
- Kilimanjaro Safaris
(Kali River Rapids is closed for refurbishment until March 2025.)
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park already had the fewest rides of any Walt Disney World Resort park, and the loss of TriceraTop Spin further reduces options, especially for younger guests.
What’s Next for Disney’s Animal Kingdom?
DinoLand U.S.A. is being completely reimagined into Pueblo Esperanza, a brand-new land inspired by Encanto (2021) and Indiana Jones. DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, and multiple Quick Service dining locations in DinoLand U.S.A. will remain open through 2025. Final closures are expected in early 2026.
