Disney Charging $349 for New EPCOT Experience Opening to Fans This Week

Disney fans are used to seeing premium experiences arrive at Walt Disney World, but the latest offering may have some guests doing a double take.

Disney has announced a new EPCOT event carrying a $349 per-person price tag, and that’s before guests even purchase admission to the park.

The event is part of a growing trend toward specialized, limited-capacity experiences designed for Disney’s most dedicated fans. While VIP tours and after-hours events have become increasingly common, this latest offering focuses entirely on one of EPCOT’s most iconic locations: the Mexico Pavilion.

With ticket sales beginning this week, Disney is betting that enough fans will see value in an afternoon filled with exclusive tastings, collectibles, and historical storytelling.

The Price Is Turning Heads

At $349 per guest, the event immediately lands among Disney’s more expensive fan-focused experiences.

The ticket does not include EPCOT admission, meaning guests must purchase park entry separately. Depending on ticket prices and travel expenses, some attendees could easily spend more than $500 for the day.

That reality has already sparked conversation among Disney fans who continue to debate the value of premium offerings across Walt Disney World.

Still, Disney has found success with exclusive events in recent years, particularly those aimed at collectors and D23 members.

This newest offering appears tailored directly to that audience.

A Four-Hour Mexico Pavilion Experience

Known as “The Mexico Pavilion: A Taste of History – A D23 Experience at EPCOT,” the event takes place July 14 and runs for roughly four hours.

Guests begin with a private tasting hosted by Humberto Soto at La Cava del Tequila.

The experience includes six premium agave spirits, ranging from blanco tequila to aged selections and mezcal. Along the way, guests will receive exclusive merchandise including a commemorative pin and a specialty cocktail glass.

From there, the event transitions into a cocktail-focused experience featuring drinks that regular guests won’t have access to.

One beverage, The Aztec Eagle, was developed alongside the Walt Disney Archives and pays tribute to Walt Disney’s relationship with Mexico. Participants will also be among the first to sample La Cava del Tequila’s new Anniversary Old Fashioned.

Additional collectibles are included throughout the experience, further emphasizing Disney’s focus on limited-edition souvenirs.

Dining at San Angel Inn

The final segment of the event takes guests to San Angel Inn, one of EPCOT’s most recognizable restaurants.

Disney says the menu has been specially developed to celebrate the restaurant’s history while highlighting dishes connected to its heritage.

Guests will choose from a selection of appetizers, entrées, and desserts before receiving a replica of the original 1982 San Angel Inn menu as a commemorative keepsake.

For longtime EPCOT fans, the historical aspect may be one of the biggest selling points.

Disney has increasingly leaned into nostalgia-driven offerings in recent years, and this event appears designed to appeal directly to guests who appreciate EPCOT’s original history.

No Closure Announced for the Pavilion

Whenever Disney hosts private events inside the parks, guests often wonder whether regular operations will be affected.

As of now, Disney has not announced any closures tied to the experience.

Dining reservations remain available at San Angel Inn on July 14, which suggests the restaurant is expected to remain open to regular guests during the event.

That could change if Disney adjusts operational plans closer to the event date, but currently there is no indication that the Mexico Pavilion will close to non-participating guests.

Tickets Become Available This Week

Fans interested in attending won’t need to wait long.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 12, and are available exclusively to D23 Gold Members.

Whether the event ultimately sells out quickly remains to be seen, but Disney clearly believes there is demand for highly specialized experiences that combine history, food, beverages, and exclusive merchandise.

The biggest question may simply be whether enough fans are willing to spend $349—plus the cost of EPCOT admission—for four hours inside one pavilion.

Based on Disney’s continued expansion of premium offerings, the company appears confident that many will.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
