Here’s Why Some EPCOT Guests Will Be Paying an Extra $250 for Their Meal

Can you imagine spending more than $250.00 per person on top of your admission to EPCOT?

EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion just got a bit more accessible for foodies who love fine dining.

Over the years, EPCOT has seen some incredible changes, from the introduction of new neighborhoods like World Discovery and World Celebration to the arrival of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Luminous: The Symphony of Us. The park continues to evolve, and we’ve got another exciting update for those who love high-end dining experiences!

Takumi-Tei, one of EPCOT’s most exclusive restaurants, is known for its omakase dining experience. This is a place where the chef curates a multi-course meal based on traditional Japanese elements, and it’s nothing short of magical. Previously, the restaurant had limited availability, with guests only able to snag a reservation on certain days of the week.

But starting in November, Takumi-Tei will be open seven days a week! Yep, that means more opportunities to enjoy its luxurious menu.

Let’s talk about what you can expect from the dining experience here. Takumi-Tei offers two main options: the Kiku (omnivorous) and Hasu (plant-based) menus, each starting at $250 per person. While that price tag might give you pause, it’s important to remember that this is billed as “a top-tier culinary experience.” We’re talking dishes like Japanese A5 wagyu steak, lobster tempura, and seasonal sashimi. Plus, the drink menu offers premium sake, craft beer, and fine wine to complement your meal.

What makes Takumi-Tei stand out is the attention to detail in both the food and the atmosphere. You can dine in one of the element-themed rooms that pay homage to Japanese culture, and if you’re celebrating something special, you can even book the private Water Room for an extra $100. It’s an experience you’re unlikely to forget, but your bank account won’t forget it either.

But, as with all things Disney, you’ll want to plan ahead. The restaurant has a strict cancellation policy, charging $100 per person for no-shows or cancellations made within 48 hours of the reservation. So, make sure you’re committed when you book.

With its increased availability, more guests will have the opportunity to savor this dining experience. While you may think the price point is too much — and we agree — the truth is that there are enough Disney World guests willing to pay the steep price to eat here, so that speaks volumes about the quality of food and drinks you can enjoy there.

Whether you’re a Disney regular or planning a special trip, this is one restaurant that should be on your radar if you’re looking for a meal that’s truly out of the ordinary.
