After a long absence, the beloved neon Pluto figure has returned to the rooftops of Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And yes, the tail is wagging again.

Guests who frequent the park may remember that back in October 2024, the classic rooftop Pluto disappeared without much explanation. The removal happened as Hurricane Milton approached Florida, and many assumed it was a storm-related precaution. But while other decorative elements returned not long after, Pluto didn’t. Days turned to weeks, and weeks into months. Some fans started to wonder—was he gone for good?

Thankfully, as of June 21, 2025, the answer is a loud and joyful “no.” Disney quietly reinstalled the oversized neon pup, restoring a small but beloved piece of the park’s identity.

While the change wasn’t broadcast in a press release or fanfare event, guests noticed immediately. Photos started circulating on social media, and longtime fans celebrated the return of a character who’s been part of the park’s charm for decades. There’s something about seeing Pluto up there, tail in motion, greeting visitors as they walk under the glow of Hollywood’s golden age, that just makes it feel like home.

Hollywood Studios has been going through its share of transformation lately—from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to Toy Story Land to the newest summer events like Cool Kid Summer. But amid all the shiny additions and IP-driven expansion, Pluto’s reappearance feels like a love letter to the park’s roots.

He may not be a thrill ride or an immersive new experience, but Pluto’s return proves one thing: Disney knows that nostalgia matters. The character may not speak a word, but his presence says everything.

Welcome back, buddy. We missed you.
