When it comes to Disney fan events, one of the biggest events is the D23 Expo, which is held every two years in Anaheim, California, right across the street from the Disneyland Resort. However, the massive D23 Expo in Anaheim is not the only Expo that fans can attend to enjoy all things Disney. The Walt Disney Company also holds a smaller — but just as magical expo — called Destination D23 at the Walt Disney World Resort.
On December 8, Disney announced the 2023 dates for Destination D23 and shared more exciting information on what Guests will be able to experience. Destination D23 will take place from September 8-10 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Next year’s Destination D23 will not be any regular expo. The Walt Disney Company will be celebrating its 100th anniversary, and the expo will have a ton of fun events focusing on that.
D23 — the Official Disney Fan Club — shared more on what is coming.
D23 returns to The Most Magical Place on Earth for the biggest Disney fan event of 2023 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, September 8–10, to celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. Fans will be among the first to hear exciting announcements and see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney—and relive favorite memories with behind-the-scenes stories, special guests, and so much more at this epic event.
While the D23 Expo in Anaheim is considered the expo to go to for all big Disney news, Destination D23 has had its fair share of exciting announcements in the past as well. At last year’s expo — which former CEO Bob Chapek did not attend — Disney announced Connections Eatery and Café would be coming to EPCOT. Connections Café is now open and features a menu full of vibrant and flavorful options.
Destination D23 also features exciting performances, exclusive shopping experiences, and presentations by Disney executives like Josh D’Amaro — the Chairman of Disney Park, Experiences, and Products.
We do not know if returning CEO Bob Iger will attend the Expo, but he most likely will, as he has in the past.
