If you’re planning to stay at Walt Disney World in 2025, keep in mind that several popular Disney resorts will be undergoing refurbishments. While the updates promise a fresh look and feel, guests staying at these resorts may notice daytime construction activity. Here’s a rundown of the resorts involved and what it means for your upcoming vacation.

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (May to September 2025)

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, with its cozy, cabin-style architecture and serene forested surroundings, is set to refresh its Copper Creek Villas & Cabins from mid-May to September 2025. The Copper Creek section of this beloved resort blends natural, rustic charm with modern amenities, making it a favorite for families and nature-lovers alike.

While all amenities will stay open, expect construction noise during the day. For guests hoping for a completely tranquil escape, other times of the year or nearby resorts might be preferable, especially if you plan to spend significant time relaxing at your accommodations.

Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside (April 2025 to January 2026)

Known for its Southern charm, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside offers the elegant Magnolia Bend section, styled after stately mansions along the Mississippi River. Rooms in Magnolia Bend will be refurbished from early April 2025 through the end of January 2026. Guests who stay here often appreciate the sophisticated theming and romantic, laid-back feel of this riverfront resort.

Though most amenities will remain available, you may see or hear construction activity during your stay. Those who prefer to avoid any potential construction noise might consider booking a room in the Alligator Bayou section or choosing the nearby French Quarter Resort.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort (March 2025 to February 2026)

Disney’s Pop Century Resort, popular with families and budget-conscious travelers, will begin refreshing its guest rooms from late March 2025, with construction expected to continue through mid-February 2026. Themed around pop culture from the 1950s through the 1990s, this resort is known for its lively atmosphere and brightly colored icons from past decades.

Although daily amenities will be accessible, guests may encounter construction noise or see refurbishments in progress. Pop Century’s bustling environment may absorb some of this activity, but for those seeking a quieter stay without visible construction, Art of Animation Resort may be a better option nearby.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (Early 2025)

Set along Crescent Lake, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers upscale New England seaside vibes and direct access to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Renovations to guest rooms will start in early 2025, adding a fresh layer of sophistication to this fan-favorite resort. Yacht Club’s prime location and sophisticated decor attract guests who want easy access to Disney parks while enjoying a relaxing, nautical-themed setting.

With construction anticipated during the day, those looking for uninterrupted relaxation might explore other resorts like Beach Club, which offers similar amenities but is not currently scheduled for refurbishments.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (Throughout 2025)

Bay Lake Tower, adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is a sleek, high-rise hotel offering stunning views of Magic Kingdom. Its year-long refurbishment began in 2024, with updates continuing throughout 2025. Known for its modern design, proximity to the monorail, and exclusive fireworks viewing areas, Bay Lake Tower appeals to Disney Vacation Club members and other guests who prioritize location and luxury.

Guests staying here will have access to all amenities, though the sounds of ongoing construction may be noticeable during the day. Those preferring a more secluded stay might consider Polynesian Village Resort, offering similar Magic Kingdom access without the construction.

Port Orleans – French Quarter (Extended Into Early 2025)

Port Orleans – French Quarter, with its quaint, French Quarter-inspired decor and compact layout, will be wrapping up room refurbishments into early 2025. This boutique-style resort is known for its festive New Orleans theming, cobblestone streets, and proximity to the popular Disney Springs area.

While most construction is nearing completion, there may be minor daytime disturbances. Guests looking to avoid the risk of lingering construction may prefer a stay at Riverside, just a short walk away, in an unaffected section of the resort.

Should You Choose a Resort Undergoing Refurbishment?

Staying at a resort with ongoing renovations can be a mixed bag. If you’re planning to spend most of your time in the parks, a daytime construction schedule might not be a deal-breaker. However, if you’re looking forward to resort downtime, daytime construction could impact your experience. Some considerations include:

  • Noise and Visuals: Though Disney generally keeps construction confined to daytime hours, noise and equipment around the grounds could detract from the otherwise immersive experience.
  • Atmosphere: Resorts like Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club are prized for their relaxing ambiance. Refurbishments can temporarily shift the atmosphere, making it feel busier or less serene.
  • Alternative Choices: If tranquility and ambiance are top priorities, look at resorts not currently undergoing updates.

Ultimately, refurbishments are designed to elevate the Disney resort experience, so these efforts will soon benefit future guests. In the meantime, if you’re set on a Disney resort with no interruptions, consider checking out Disney’s resort options outside of those currently under refurbishment.

Are you planning to stay at one of these resorts in 2025?
