Dinoland’s Final Days: Disney World Prepares for a Bold Transformation

Big changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as Dinoland USA prepares to say goodbye! The quirky dinosaur-themed area will soon make way for a brand-new land inspired by the Tropical Americas, bringing exciting new adventures and immersive experiences to the park. Fans can look forward to attractions that celebrate the vibrant cultures, lush landscapes, and beloved stories of Central and South America.

One of the most anticipated additions is an Encanto-themed attraction, where guests can step into the magical world of the Madrigal family. Visitors may find themselves exploring the enchanted Casita and connecting with the magic that has captivated audiences worldwide. For thrill-seekers, a new Indiana Jones adventure promises to deliver daring quests through jungles and ancient ruins, designed to be unlike any other Indiana Jones attraction in Disney parks.

This transformation is already underway, with some changes visible in Dinoland. The Disney Vacation Club kiosk has already been removed, marking the first signs of progress toward the park’s new vision. While the phased closure begins on January 13, 2025, with TriceraTop Spin and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures shutting down, some beloved areas like the Boneyard and Restaurantosaurus will remain open for now. This gives guests a little more time to enjoy these classic spots before they eventually close.

The new Tropical Americas land will also feature a vibrant carousel inspired by the animals and folklore of the region, adding a family-friendly element to the area. Disney Imagineers plan to incorporate dense foliage, cascading waterfalls, and colorful village-like structures to create a lush and immersive environment. These design choices align perfectly with Animal Kingdom’s focus on conservation and celebrating the natural world.

For those who have fond memories of Dinoland, now is the time to visit and soak up its charm before it’s gone. While saying goodbye may be bittersweet, the new land promises to deliver unforgettable experiences that blend Disney magic with cultural richness. It’s a thrilling new chapter for Animal Kingdom, and fans can’t wait to see it come to life.
