Dining with the Mouse: 5 Restaurants with Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World

While visiting Walt Disney World a priority of many guests is to meet Mickey Mouse.  Although there are many opportunities to do so throughout the four theme parks, another great option is to look into dining with the main mouse.  Mickey Mouse greets guests at a variety of different restaurants throughout the parks and resorts on Disney property.  Here is a breakdown of five different restaurants that guests can dine at with Mickey Mouse.

1. Chef Mickey’s- Contemporary Resort

The most popular location for dining with Mickey Mouse is at Chef Mickey’s.  Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey’s is a fun, energetic restaurant opened all day.  Guests can enjoy a delicious buffet throughout the day with comfort foods at all three meals.  Mickey waffles at breakfast, ice cream bar for lunch and supper are all enjoyed by guests while waiting for Mickey Mouse to stop by their table.  This is an extremely popular dining option for guests, so make sure to book those reservations at the 180-day mark.

2. ‘Ohana- Polynesian Resort

‘Ohana is a great dining adventure.  Located right next to Disney’s Magic Kingdom in the Polynesian Resort, ‘Ohana offers guests the opportunity to dining with Mickey Mouse for breakfast.  Guests can start their day with a family style meal of waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes and more all while enjoying the company of Mickey Mouse.  For guests that don’t want to get up for a buffet, this is an excellent choice.  The family style meal allows guests to sit and enjoy the meal together all while waiting to be visited by Mickey Mouse.  Lilo and Stitch as well as Pluto also will greet guests during breakfast at ‘Ohana.  Schedule a pre-park breakfast prior to heading to Magic Kingdom for a magical way to start the day.

3. Tusker House– Animal Kingdom

If guests aren’t able to get reservations at the highly sought-after Chef Mickey’s, consider Tusker House.  Located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Tusker House offers guests a variety of food options on a large buffet.  Guests can enjoy unique African flavored options as well as classics like mac and cheese and corn dog nuggets.  As guests enjoy their delicious meal, they will be able to visit with Mickey Mouse and friends.  Although the food at Tusker House is very different than Chef Mickey’s the character interaction is very similar.  This is a fantastic option for grown-ups who want a little flavor in their meal while still having kid-friendly options.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
