Delectable New Dishes Coming to Animal Kingdom Lodge!

When researching dining at the Walt Disney World Resort, there appear to be endless options. From Mexican to Chinese, soup, sandwiches, sweet treats, vegan dishes, and more, there is truly something for everyone. Each of Disney’s four theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, and Disney Springs have mouthwatering options that are sure to create a memorable location. And now, Disney World chefs have created some delicious and original new dishes for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Let’s take a look at the exciting new dishes.

Maji Pool Bar

Shrimp Bakuli – chilled poach shrimp paired with pickled carrots and Basmati rice, topped with soy-ginger dressing and berbere aioli

Multigrain Tabbouleh – a salad filled with grains, herbs, and flavorful grilled vegetables

Spiced Pork Nachos – nachos topped with pork vindaloo, beans, herb crema, and kachumbari (a tomato and onion salad)

Short Rib Grilled Cheese – red wine-braised short ribs on brioche bread, served with Gouda cheese and pickled onion

The Mara

Beginning December 8

Marinated Sun-dried Tomato and Herbed Ricotta Flatbread – made with fresh herbed ricotta, sun-dried tomatoes, tomato sauce, a four-cheese blend, and arugula

Chermoula-spiced Shrimp Bowl – grilled shrimp, Pilau rice (like rice pilaf), and flavored with The Mara’s unique seasoning blend

Oak-Gilled Chicken Bowl – made with chicken thighs slow roasted over an oak-fired spit and seasoned with The Mara’s blend

South African Vegetable Bowl – a curried vegetable stew served with Pilau rice, dried fruit achar, kale slaw, and an avocado-tahini sauce

Jiko: The Cooking Place

Sweet Potato-Groundnut Soup – made with spiced groundnuts (peanuts), finger lime, pickled red chilies, and sorrel (a leafy green plant)

Boma: Flavors of Africa, Sanaa, Victoria Falls Lounge

Beginning December 16

These three hotspots will be celebrating the release of the highly-anticipated sequel Avatar: The Way of Water with a specialty drink!

Way of Water – a blend of African Star Rum, BACARDI Raspberry Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao, and lemonade, and topped with mint and a lotus glow cube

Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurants are known for their bold flavors and unique options, and these new dishes are no exception. We can’t wait to head down to Animal Kingdom Lodge and try them all!
