“I have some health news that I need to share that I never thought that I would be sharing again in my lifetime,” the former Entertainment Tonight host said as she spoke directly to her followers, “but I have a recurrence of breast cancer. And I feel so fortunate to have been able to guide, support, and lead so many of you in Your Healthiest Healthy community, and I will continue to do so, and I will fight on and will be okay.”
She continued, saying, “I’m so grateful for my family and my close friends, and as I lean on them, I also reach out to lean on you during this time, and I will continue to share more as my treatment plan unravels.”
Harris then paused briefly before adding, “I’ll see you soon.”
A Second Shocking Diagnosis
Samantha Harris was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 at the age of 40. As part of her treatment, she underwent a double mastectomy.
“I was sick of feeling the way that I did in the days after the [first] diagnosis,” Harris said on an episode of Entertainment Tonight at the time about her decision to proceed with surgery. “I knew I needed to take control.”
Harris launched her podcast, Your Healthiest Healthy with Samantha Harris, in May of this year, and her book, Your Healthiest Healthy: 8 Easy Ways to Take Control, Fight Cancer, and Live a Longer, Cleaner Happier Life, was released in 2018.
We wish her well on her journey toward remission.
