CONFIRMED: Disney Store Shutting Down in Three Weeks
Time is running out to visit a longstanding Disney Store location before it permanently transforms into something completely different. The iconic merchandise shop at Disneyland Paris Resort has officially entered its final weeks of operation, with closure scheduled for early January 2026.
Final Days at Disney Village’s Original Disney Store

Disneyland Paris Resort confirmed through its official app in November that the original Disney Store location within Disney Village will close its doors permanently on January 4, 2026. Guests hoping to experience this vintage-style retail location one last time have until Saturday, January 3, to visit before the transformation begins. Following that final day of operation, the space will be listed as “undergoing refurbishment” while Disney prepares for its next chapter.

What’s Taking Over the Space?
Rather than simply renovating the existing Disney Store concept, Disneyland Paris Resort plans to completely reimagine the retail experience. The replacement venue, dubbed “Disney Wonders,” promises a fresh approach to shopping for Disney merchandise. Recent weeks have brought the first look at what guests can expect, with the European Disney park sharing concept artwork depicting the vision for this updated store.

Despite releasing these conceptual images, Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t committed to a specific launch date for Disney Wonders. The timeline remains vague, with officials only confirming that construction and transformation work will commence in early 2026 following the January 4 closure.
Disney Village’s Ongoing Transformation
The Disney Store closure and subsequent Disney Wonders construction represent just one piece of a much larger puzzle. Disney Village has become a central construction zone over recent months, with multiple projects happening simultaneously throughout the shopping and dining district.

Perhaps the most noticeable change involves the McDonald’s restaurant, which has served Disneyland Paris guests for over twenty years. The vintage-style location currently operating in Disney Village will soon be demolished and replaced by a modern multi-story restaurant facility. Current projections indicate that the new McDonald’s will open sometime in early 2026, potentially around the same timeframe as Disney Wonders.
Beyond these major overhauls, Disney Village has already welcomed several refreshed and brand-new retail locations in recent months. LEGO opened an updated store, while Disney Glamour and Disney Style made their debuts.
More To Look Forward To: Disney Adventure World

While Disney Village undergoes its facelift, even more dramatic changes are happening just steps away. Disneyland Paris Resort’s second gate is receiving a complete identity overhaul, with Walt Disney Studios Park being reimagined as Disney Adventure World. The transformation shifts the park’s focus from celebrating movie-making to immersing guests directly into beloved cinematic worlds.
On March 29, 2026, Disney Adventure World will launch alongside the World of Frozen land. This new themed area brings two new attractions, dining venues, live entertainment, and other immersive environments inspired by the blockbuster Frozen (2013) franchise.

Walt Disney Imagineering has also confirmed development of a The Lion King (1994)-themed land, complete with a log flume attraction, for Disney Adventure World. However, no official opening date has been announced for that expansion.
