Classic Ride, New Magic: Rapunzel’s Tower Makes Its Disneyland Entrance

Disneyland’s Fantasyland is getting a luminous new landmark this week as Rapunzel’s Tower officially joins the park’s Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction — and Disney fans are already lighting up with excitement.

Today, Disney Parks released a video offering the first official look at the intricately designed tower, which brings Tangled (2010) to life in miniature form. The reveal comes just one day before the new scene’s debut, marking the next chapter in the park’s ongoing updates to its classic attractions.

A New Scene Arrives

The newly unveiled footage shows Rapunzel’s iconic tower nestled among Storybook Land’s meticulously crafted fairytale settings, giving guests a glimpse at how the beloved Tangled story will now be represented within the timeless attraction. The video immediately resonated with fans, many noting the significance of the reveal’s timing and referencing one of the film’s most emotional moments: “And at last I see the light.”

For longtime visitors, the addition of Rapunzel’s Tower represents more than just another scene — it’s a long-awaited acknowledgment of one of Disney’s modern classics. Until now, Tangled has primarily been featured at Disneyland through limited character appearances and themed areas, but no permanent attraction within Fantasyland.

Originally opened in 1956, Storybook Land Canal Boats remains one of Disneyland’s most cherished rides, celebrating the studio’s animation legacy through a series of miniature dioramas. Guests journey by boat through a scenic canal lined with iconic landscapes from across Disney’s storytelling history. Rapunzel’s Tower now joins scenes inspired by Frozen, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid, expanding the attraction’s collection of beloved tales that span generations.

What To Expect

While Disney has not shared whether the tower will include special lighting or nighttime features reminiscent of Tangled’s glowing lanterns, the addition has already captured the imagination of fans. Many are eager to see how the tower enhances the ride’s charm — and whether it could signal the beginning of more Tangled-themed expansions in the future.

As Disney continues blending classic storytelling with modern favorites, the arrival of Rapunzel’s Tower feels like the perfect bridge between eras — a celebration of animation’s golden past and the magic still shining today. The tower officially debuts tomorrow, offering parkgoers one more reason to set sail through Storybook Land and experience a little “light” of their own.
