Disney Announces All-New ‘Frozen’ Coming Next Month
After capturing the West End production in 2024, Disney+ has officially set a streaming date for the professionally filmed version of Disney on Broadway’s “Frozen.” The Walt Disney Company first promised the release at D23 Expo 2024 and is finally giving fans a chance to experience the hit musical from home starting June 20, 2025.
This pro-shot release follows in the footsteps of the successful pro-shot of the original Broadway cast of “Hamilton,” which debuted on Disney+ in 2020. While there were rumors of a filmed version of “Aladdin” from the West End in 2021, Disney has yet to confirm its existence or announce a streaming date.
Luckily, “Frozen” fans won’t have to wait any longer to “Let it Go.” On Thursday, journalist Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) shared the official streaming date on X (formerly Twitter):

Unlike Hamilton (2020), which featured the original Broadway cast, Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical (2025) stars the West End cast including Samantha Barks as Elsa, Laura Dawkes as Anna, Jammy Kasongo as Kristoff, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Oliver Ormson as Hans, and Richard Frame as Duke of Weselton. Directed by Michael Grandage, the show features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and a book by Jennifer Lee.
After tryouts in Denver in 2017, “Frozen” officially opened at the St. James Theatre in New York City in early 2018. It ran for over 800 performances before the pandemic shutdown in March 2020. When Broadway reopened, Disney prioritized its moneymakers: “Aladdin” and “The Lion King.” “Frozen” never reopened on Broadway.
“Frozen” has since toured extensively across North America and internationally, with its West End run beginning in 2021 and concluding in September 2024.
