BREAKING: 4 New Disney Lands Coming by 2030 Will Change Everything

Something big is coming to Walt Disney World. Over the next five years, Disney plans to open four new lands across its parks—and these expansions could completely reshape how guests experience the resort.

These new additions will take guests from tropical jungles to monster-filled cities, through daring rescues and into the lairs of Disney’s most iconic villains. Disney isn’t playing it safe—it’s going all in.

Let’s dive into what’s on the way—and what has to go to make room.

The Monsters Are Moving In

Let’s start with Hollywood Studios. The Muppets Courtyard is being cleared to make room for Monsters Inc. Land, a much more current and energetic IP.

Scheduled for 2028, this land will take guests into the heart of Monstropolis. A dark ride involving the door vault or Boo’s adventure seems likely. There’s also a lot of excitement around Harryhausen’s, the sushi restaurant from the film, becoming a real-world dining experience.

With kid-friendly zones and possibly a small coaster, this land could quickly become a family favorite.

Animal Kingdom Trades Bones for Magic

Next up: Animal Kingdom. The park has always wowed guests with its beauty and detail, but DinoLand U.S.A. never really matched the overall theme. Disney plans to replace it with the Tropical Americas, a vibrant new land inspired by the rainforests and cultures of South and Central America.

Set to open in 2027, the land will likely include a major Encanto-themed attraction, probably centered around Casita and the Madrigal family. Another ride may focus on Indiana Jones, reimagining the old DINOSAUR ride system in a fresh, adventurous way.

Expect dense theming, immersive pathways, and restaurants celebrating regional flavors.

Magic Kingdom’s Double Expansion

Magic Kingdom is getting the most significant transformation of all.

First is Piston Peak, a land themed to Planes: Fire & Rescue, slotted for 2028–2029. Not the most obvious choice, but it may surprise fans with unique ride systems and practical effects. The area behind Big Thunder Mountain is large and flexible—ideal for bold new builds.

Then comes the headliner: Villains Land. Long rumored and finally in motion, this new area is expected around 2029–2030 and will bring Disney’s darker side to life.

Fans are buzzing about rides based on Maleficent, Hades, and Ursula. A fire-breathing dragon, a spinning coaster, and eerie dining options are all on the table. And of course—photo ops galore.

The Future Starts Now

Disney is making big moves, and these four lands are just the beginning. With their arrival, Disney World will feel completely reimagined by 2030.

Whether you’re a fan of magic, monsters, or mayhem, the next chapter of Disney Parks promises something unforgettable.
