Bob Iger Confirms New ‘Avatar’ Land!
In 2009, James Cameron’s cinematic masterpiece, Avatar, took the world by storm. Eight years later, Pandora: The World of Avatar opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort.
Guests’ love of Avatar has not waned, and Pandora has remained one of the most popular areas of the resort. Avatar Flight of Passage also remains one of the most in-demand Disney World attractions, frequently boasting wait times of two hours or more.
In February 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a new Avatar experience would be coming to Disneyland Resort. He did not expand on the experience, but it will be the first Avatar-themed experience found outside Walt Disney World.

Well, on March 5, Iger threw everyone for a loop when he shared that Disneyland Resort wouldn’t just be getting an Avatar experience, they would be getting an entire land!
Iger shared the news at a conference he was attending that was hosted by Morgan Stanley:
Bob Iger today discussed the “Avatar experience” he announced last year that is planned for Disneyland Resort – and today he indicated it will be a land.
“We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California.”

At this time, we have no further details on when Pandora will be coming or what will be included. However, based on Iger’s previous statements, we know it will be located in Disney California Adventure Park.
The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World is absolutely stunning and a true feat in Disney Imagineering. The land has two attractions — Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey.
There is the absolutely delectable dining spot, Satu’li Canteen, where you can get the iconic Cheeseburger Steamed Pods. Guests looking for an incredible beverage can head to Pongu Pongu, where they can order the uber-popular Night Blossom, with or without alcohol.
