A beloved Disney character is returning for a limited time to one Disney Park, so if you want to meet her, you’ll need to hurry!

As Disney fans, we love meeting characters at Disney World and Disneyland (even if we’ve “met” them several times before). It’s fun to visit with the characters, whether they are face characters like Princess Jasmine, Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Mary Poppins, or Alice in Wonderland, or fur characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Baloo, or the bears from the Country Bear Jamboree show in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.

There are so many characters in the Disney universe, however, making it impossible for every single one of them to be available at Disney’s theme parks. And when new Disney films debut at the box office, the parks often welcome characters from the film to meet guests, and more room must be made for the new characters.

In 2023, the guest-favorite experience of meeting Merida from Pixar’s Brave (2012) at Magic Kingdom was closed to make room for the reimagining of the space to include themes from Disney’s blockbuster Encanto (2021).

Staple Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, and the gang are nearly always available in Disney’s theme parks. Other characters, however, pop in at the parks for a season or two and then have to head back home. But if you’re really lucky, a character returns to the parks for a limited time, and you might just have the chance to spot them again.

That’s exactly what’s happening at Disneyland!

Raya from Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) is returning to the park for a limited time in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Guests can visit Raya and relive a part of her adventure in the world of Kumandra from the 2021 Disney film and even pose for photos with Raya. Through February 24, Raya will be located at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Grizzly Peak inside Disney California Adventure Park.

This is a limited-time experience, so if you and yours are fans of Raya and the Last Dragon, you’ll want to get to Disneyland as soon as you can! And if you need to know what not to do on your Disney trip so that it is successful, you can read our list here.
