Disney is a place where families flock from across the globe for a fairytale experience in a world filled with captivating entertainment and enchanting memories. However, beneath the facade of this fantastical wonderland lies a harsh reality: the abundance occurrence of arrests within the confines of Disney and its surrounding areas.

A Troubling Cycle

Both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are located on expansive properties in their respective locations. Walt Disney World Resort, which encompasses 27,000 acres of land, is home to four Parks: Magic Kingdom Park, Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney Animal Kingdom Park, and EPCOT. Disneyland Resort is home to two: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Unfortunately, all six of these locations have seen instances of criminal activity over the years. In a place designed to be magical and wholesome for all ages, Disney has a low tolerance for people who bring chaos and inappropriate behavior to their property.

Disney makes a big effort to remain very discreet while apprehending such employees. They realize that seeing an arrest at Disney can be very traumatizing for young eyes. However, sometimes, avoiding the public’s gaze is unavoidable. Earlier today, fans were given the full, shocking display of a Guest being dragged out of Disney by a swarm of police and security.

Arrest at Disneyland

This weekend should have been a relatively peaceful one at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. With schools beginning to go back into session, the Parks, in theory, should have been calm with low crowds and few problems. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

On September 10, 2023, Guests were exposed to a shocking showdown happening at Toontown in Disneyland Park. Toontown, a fun, whimsical land, is meant to be the perfect destination for Disneyland’s youngest fans. Unfortunately, Disney was not able to shield these eyes from a disastrous sight today.

According to a Guest who witnessed the event, a woman was arrested in Toontown by a large group of around ten men. These men consisted of a few men in uniform and others who were wearing regular clothes. After they were able to secure the woman, she was led backstage.

The post says;

“Arrested at Disneyland. Why?

I saw a woman arrested in Toontown. I didn’t see what happened. I just saw a parade of about 10 guys walking to one of the backstage doors. They had a woman with handcuffs behind her back. Of the 10 guys, probably only two or three were in uniform. the rest were plain clothes.

So, what do you have to do to get arrested at Disneyland?”

Why Was She Arrested?

After the arrest happened, this Guest also began wondering what the woman could have been arrested for. There are lots of probable reasons as to why, but it seems that the most likely is that she may have jumped the entrance gate and escaped into the Parks. Upon later consideration, the original poster says that she believes it may have been an unhoused woman.

One Disneyland Cast Member, user @Brilliant_Incident44 provided more context, saying;

“Cast member here: if this happened yesterday, there was a security look out for guests that had jumped the turnstiles, but it was a man and woman couple so idk if that woman was from that couple. But yeah, basically if you sneak in yourselves/banned items, or are just generally unruly or hostile, security will take you away. Also, the people who took them away that were in regular clothes were probably managers since they don’t require a costume.”

Hopefully everything was sorted out and the Guests who witnessed such an event are not left scarred in any way.
