In 2010, young actress Ariana Grande busted into the scene in her role as Cat Valentine in the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious. Victorious ended in 2013, and that same year, Grande starred in her own Nick show, Sam & Cat, a spinoff of Victorious. From there, Grande shot to superstardom and is one of the most popular singers in the world.
However, Grande has not given up her love of acting. She will star as Glinda the Good Witch in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway play Wicked.

Unfortunately, it isn’t her latest movie role that has the singer making headlines. Instead, it is her shocking response to being asked about her ideal dinner companion. And she has some devastated families incredibly angry.
On June 17, Grande appeared on the podcast, Podcrushed, where she recalled a question that she was asked early on in her career. She said that a young girl asked her who she would love to have for dinner. That person could be living or dead, and Grande gave an odd answer.
“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger. I was like, ‘Oh, you’re so cute. Mom and Dad, is it OK if I give the real answer?’ And they were like ‘Sure, what’s the answer?’ and I was like, ‘I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him. Y’know, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions.’”
While serial killers might be interesting to some, they were certainly not interesting to the families of their victims. Instead, they are traumatizing people who destroy and devastate the lives of those around them.
Grande’s answer began going viral and has led to the family of one of Dahmer’s victims speaking out.
If you are unfamiliar, Jeffrey Dahmer is a prolific serial killer who was known for killing, dismembering, sexually abusing, and then eating his victims. Dahmer died in prison after being sentenced to 16 life terms. He was found guilty of killing 17 innocent young men and boys between 1978 and 1971. His youngest victims were Konerak Sinthasomphone and Jamie Doxtator, who were both just 14 years old.

Shirley Hughes, the mother of Tony Hughes, called Grande “sick in her mind.” Tony was 31 when he was murdered, and he was deaf and non-verbal after catching a serious case of pneumonia when he was an infant.
Tony’s mother spoke to TMZ about Grande’s comments.
“To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”
Ms. Hughes was also bothered by the fact that Grande laughed about her interest in the infamous killer. The families of Dahmer’s victims feel real pain from what happened, and she felt like Grande had no empathy for what they went through.
Ms. Hughes’s sister, Barbara Hughes, said that she would love for Ms. Grande to apologize, but doesn’t think that she will. She also thinks that Grande will not understand the pain they deal with every day unless something like that happens to her.
Do you think Ariana Grande should apologize for her actions?
