In September 2016, a brand-new eatery opened in CityWalk at the Universal Orlando Resort. It featured big portions of delicious food, crazy milkshakes topped with pieces of cake, and a candy shop where the candy looks more like artwork. That restaurant was Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, and it is now one of the most popular dining locations, not only at Universal CityWalk Orlando but in the entire Universal Orlando Resort.

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is a truly unique dining location, themed to give it an early 19th-century steampunk vibe. The food is classic and comforting with a modern twist, and the portions are BIG. One of the most popular dining options are the crazy shakes — decadent milkshakes topped with things like slices of cake and whole cupcakes.

The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is so popular that a second location is under construction at Universal CityWalk in Universal Studios Hollywood. The new location is taking the place of The Hard Rock Cafe, which closed in January 2020.
While construction on the new Toothsome location in Universal CityWalk Hollywood was initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, work is well underway, and, on October 13, Universal shared that the new location will open in early 2023!

The opening of Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is not the only exciting thing happening at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023. Universal is also hard at work completing Super Nintendo World — which will bring Guests into the world of Mario and his friends.
Super Nintendo World does not have a hard opening date at this time, but Universal officials have shared that it is scheduled to open in early 2023.
