American Idol, the singing competition celebrating 20 years on television, is coming to the Aulani Resort in Hawaii for two days this month.
The episodes of American Idol to be taped in Hawaii are those in which contestants who won their chance to keep going in the contest in Hollywood make the journey to the Hawaiian island of Oahu so that they can focus on perfecting their singing and musical skills. Each contestant in this round of the competition will be growing in his or her abilities and talents under the guidance of musical celebrity mentors as they work to prepare themselves to give it all they’ve got during a concert on the beach at Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa.
When they’re taking a break from performing and being mentored, contestants of American Idol will have the opportunity to experience all Disney offers at its only resort in Hawaii. Contestants will relax in the sun and lush surroundings at Aulani on a more than 20-acre piece of oceanfront paradise on the island of Oahu.
The production team for the exciting singing competition show is slated to arrive at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in West Oahu. The team will be setting up to film episodes that will star the top 24 live auditions that take place at Disney’s Hawaiian Resort. The newest episode of American Idol will feature judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie as well as host Ryan Seacrest. Celebrity mentors will also be on hand to coach and train contestants on their way to becoming the next American Idol.
Fans of American Idol who will be in Hawaii during the tapings of the auditions are invited to be part of the audience for the shows. Audience participants must be 8 years of age or older, and each participant is also required to be fully vaccinated. American Idol producers are looking for groups of four to eight audience members from the same household who can be placed near the beach. The related groups of audience members will stand together on the beach in what the producers are calling “pods.”
American Idol will be taping two different episodes. The first episode will be taped on Monday, February 14 at 4:30 p.m., and the second episode will be taped on Tuesday, February 15 at 4:30 p.m.
Invitations are extended to prospective audience members on a first-come, first-served basis. According to management for American Idol, all audience invitations will be drawn from the fully-vaccinated pool of American Idol fans who have previously signed up via the link below.
The 20th season of ABC’s American Idol begins February 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Fans will want to watch every week so they don’t miss the two episodes that will be filmed at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa. Tapings of American Idol at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa are standing room only.
