After Major Backlash, Disney Announces “Hopeful” Changes To Jollywood Nights

When Disney first introduced Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios, the idea sounded magical: a glitzy holiday party tailored to adults with unique shows, themed food, and a festive atmosphere. Unfortunately, reality didn’t quite match expectations. Guests quickly pointed out that the ticket price felt steep for what amounted to a rushed evening, and social media erupted with criticism.

Disney clearly took the feedback to heart. Heading into 2025, the company is making noticeable adjustments to the event, and this year’s edition feels like a genuine attempt at course correction.

More Time, Less Stress

One of the loudest complaints from 2024 centered on timing. Guests weren’t admitted until 6 p.m., which meant long lines at security and a frantic race to experience everything before the night was over. In response, Disney is now allowing guests to enter as early as 5:30 p.m.—two full hours before the main entertainment begins. That extra time could be the difference between rushing and actually enjoying the atmosphere, shopping, or dinner without the stress.

Culinary Overhaul

Food is another area where Disney is upping the game. During Destination D23, the company revealed that Jollywood Nights 2025 will feature 25 brand-new food and drink items. From raspberry lemon squares to a gingerbread whiskey mule, the offerings show a real investment in making food part of the party’s identity rather than an afterthought.

Fresh Entertainment Meets Returning Favorites

This year, the event will also see a blend of new shows and fan favorites. Guests can look forward to meeting Miguel from Coco, seeing The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure, and catching a new villains-themed show called Unfairly Ever After. At the same time, staples like Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, the skating spectacular Glisten!, and the chaotic fun of Kermit and Miss Piggy’s show will return. Even the Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along will be back for another round of quirky holiday cheer.

Why Fans Are Optimistic

Disney often tweaks its seasonal events, but these changes feel more intentional—almost like a direct response to fans’ biggest frustrations. By giving guests more time and a stronger lineup of food and entertainment, Jollywood Nights seems positioned to finally live up to its promise.

Tickets are already on sale for dates starting November 8 through December 22, and at the time of writing, none have sold out. For those who skipped last year, 2025 might just be the year worth giving it another shot.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
