A Beloved Food Spot is Coming BACK to Disney Next Month

Earl of Sandwich is a time honored Disney tradition. We love it. You love it. Basically, everyone loves Earl of Sandwich! That’s why we are so excited that it is coming BACK! Named after an actual Earl, John Montagu the 4th Earl of Sandwich who made the ubiquitous handheld food popular.

In January of last year Earl of Sandwich exited Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort in order to make room for a multi-year re-imagining of the shopping district. The former Earl of Sandwich building was demolished. However, when La Brea Bakery closed its doors recently, after more than 20 years on operation, an opening was left for the beloved Sandwich shop to return.

Both quick (counter) service and table service options will make a reappearance inside of the former location of La Brea Bakery this February! Grab and go Sandwiches as well as hot freshly made sandwiches on their signature artisan bread will be on the menu. Not a sandwich person? Not to worry! From soups to salads and wraps and even pizza, there’s something for everyone here. Best part? It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so anytime the craving for “the world’s greatest sandwich” arises…they’ve got you covered!

This is only one of the many exciting things coming to Downtown Disney in the next few months. Porto’s Bakery & Café, an iconic Southern California destination known for its sweet pastries and desserts, as well as delicious California-Cuban-inspired dishes will be coming to the District on addition to Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned, family-run Chinese restaurant specializing in soup dumplings. An open lawn is also in the works for family relaxation (picnics!) and will play host to various events throughout the year!

Stay tuned right here at Disney Dining where we will make sure to bring you updates on Downtown Disney’s incredible transformation!

About Jill Bivins

Jill Bivins has been visiting Disney Parks since she was 2 years old and loves sharing her Disney adventures with the world. She likes to say Disney is in her blood and writing is in her bones — so any time she has the opportunity to combine these loves she is one happy camper! She has a deep abiding love for Epcot and as a die hard Star Wars fan has a serious love for Hollywood Studios as well. When she isn't exploring or writing about Disney Parks, Jill is homeschooling her 8 year old son, playing with her brand new baby son, or pretending to be a farmer on her family homestead (despite being unable to keep even a cactus alive).
