Something Is Happening With Disney World’s Tower of Terror After 32 Years
Something mysterious is happening behind the scenes at Walt Disney World, and it could mean changes are coming to one of the resort’s most beloved attractions.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has terrified visitors at Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 1994. For 32 years, the attraction has remained a recognizable part of the park, welcoming millions of guests into the haunted Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Now, a surprising development involving someone closely connected to the attraction has Disney fans wondering whether something new is coming.

And the timing is particularly interesting considering the refurbishment work already underway.
Disney World’s Tower of Terror Could Be Getting an Update
According to WDWMAGIC, Mark Silverman, the voice actor responsible for recreating Rod Serling’s narration inside Tower of Terror, recently visited Walt Disney Imagineering headquarters in Glendale, California.
Silverman shared the visit on Instagram, immediately attracting attention from fans familiar with his work.
However, his response to one particular comment raised even more questions.
When a follower asked whether Disney guests would be hearing something new from him, Silverman responded:
“well…. could be.”
Although he didn’t provide additional details, the comment suggests that something involving his voice work could be under consideration.
Silverman has played an important role in Tower of Terror since its opening.
Because Rod Serling died in 1975, Disney needed someone capable of recreating his distinctive voice for the attraction’s original narration.
Silverman ultimately received the role, helping bring the mysterious Hollywood Tower Hotel storyline to life.
His voice remains an essential part of the attraction’s famous library preshow.
Disney Is Already Working on the Hollywood Tower Hotel
Interestingly, Silverman’s visit comes while Tower of Terror is undergoing exterior refurbishment work.
Scaffolding has surrounded portions of the attraction throughout 2026, with additional work appearing around the building in recent months.
However, Disney hasn’t connected that refurbishment to Silverman’s visit or announced any changes to the ride experience.
It’s possible Imagineers could be preparing new narration, additional storytelling elements, or another type of update.
Disney has previously modified other versions of Tower of Terror, including the Disneyland Paris attraction, which received new storytelling and effects.

Still, there is no confirmation that Disney World will receive anything similar.
For now, Tower of Terror continues operating with its familiar supernatural storyline and dramatic elevator drops.
After 32 years, the attraction remains one of Hollywood Studios’ defining experiences.
Whether Silverman’s mysterious visit leads to something substantial or a smaller addition remains to be seen.
But for fans who have spent decades checking into the Hollywood Tower Hotel, even a modest change could be significant.
