Disney World Will Shut Down Popular EPCOT Restaurant in February 2027

EPCOT guests planning a visit in early 2027 will have one fewer table-service restaurant to choose from for at least several weeks.

Rose & Crown Dining Room, a longtime fixture of the United Kingdom pavilion in World Showcase, is preparing to temporarily close for refurbishment. The shutdown begins in February, and while Disney has confirmed the restaurant will return, there is still some uncertainty surrounding exactly when that will happen.

For guests who consider Rose & Crown part of their EPCOT tradition, the timing could require a change of plans.

Rose & Crown Dining Room Sets February Closing Date

Rose & Crown Dining Room will close beginning Monday, February 15, 2027.

Disney currently says the restaurant will remain closed until early spring, but an exact reopening date hasn’t been announced.

The company also hasn’t revealed what crews will work on during the closure. There are currently no announced changes to the restaurant’s menu, theme, or overall experience.

That makes this look like a traditional refurbishment rather than a major transformation, although Disney hasn’t provided enough information to know how extensive the project will become.

For guests visiting EPCOT shortly after February 15, however, the most important detail is simple: Rose & Crown Dining Room won’t be available.

British Food Isn’t Completely Disappearing

While the dining room will close, guests won’t lose every Rose & Crown option.

Rose & Crown Pub will remain open throughout the refurbishment. Yorkshire County Fish Shop will also continue serving guests.

Both locations will continue offering British food and beverage choices, giving visitors alternatives while the dining room is unavailable.

However, neither completely replaces the experience of having a sit-down meal inside Rose & Crown Dining Room.

That could make the closure particularly disappointing for returning visitors who make the restaurant part of their EPCOT plans.

Disney Has Done This Before

The 2027 project won’t be the first time Rose & Crown Dining Room has temporarily closed for refurbishment around this part of the year.

A similar closure occurred in 2021. Following that refurbishment, the restaurant began accepting reservations again on March 21.

That doesn’t mean guests should expect the same timeline in 2027.

Disney hasn’t said whether the upcoming project is comparable in scope to the previous refurbishment, so using the 2021 closure to predict a reopening date would be premature.

For now, “early spring” is the only timeframe guests have.

Guests May Need a Backup Plan

EPCOT has no shortage of restaurants, especially throughout World Showcase, so guests will still have plenty of dining possibilities.

But that doesn’t necessarily make losing Rose & Crown Dining Room insignificant.

Disney dining can become a major part of vacation planning, and some families know exactly where they want to eat before they ever arrive at the resort. A closure lasting several weeks can force those visitors to rearrange their plans.

Anyone traveling after February 15 should prepare for Rose & Crown Dining Room to be unavailable unless Disney announces otherwise.

The good news is that the closure is temporary, and the surrounding British dining options aren’t going anywhere.

Exactly what Rose & Crown Dining Room will look like when it returns remains another question.

Until Disney reveals more about the project or provides a firm reopening date, guests visiting EPCOT in late winter and early spring will want to keep this closure in mind.
