Disney Springs’ Gelato Shop Has a New Location, and It Has Exclusives Disney Doesn’t
Vivoli Il Gelato has opened its fifth Orlando-area location, and it is off Disney property.
The new shop sits at Flamingo Crossings Town Center in Winter Garden, about five minutes from Walt Disney World. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It joins Vivoli’s locations at Disney Springs and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Bigger, and Built in Italy
The original Vivoli opened in Florence in 1930. Nearly a century of practice.
Roughly 90 percent of the new shop’s decor and build reportedly came straight from Italy, which is a real detail in a market where Italian theming usually means a coastline poster.
The space is also considerably larger than the Disney locations, and that matters more than square footage usually does.
It Is a Test Kitchen
Vivoli is using Flamingo Crossings to experiment. New flavors and creations may debut here before showing up anywhere else.
Think about how unusual that is.
Normally the Disney location gets the exclusive and the off-property shop gets the standard menu. This flips it. The off-property store is now where things launch.
What You Can Only Get Here
Three things right now.
Tiramisu gelato. Exclusive to this location. It ran at Disney Springs years ago and has been brought back.
Tiramisu Affogato. Limited time. Tiramisu gelato, espresso, ladyfingers.
Crème de Café. A frozen cappuccino-style drink served at no other Orlando Vivoli.
Seasonal rotations are coming too, with holiday flavors and drinks already planned.
Pints to Take Home
First time Vivoli has done this in Orlando.
Grab-and-go pints sit in the shop’s freezer, featuring flavors also found at Disney Springs, including coconut and peanut butter. Availability varies.
This is the biggest practical change for locals. Gelato in a shop is an outing. Gelato in your freezer is a routine.
Peanut-Free, and Worth Knowing
The Flamingo Crossings location is fully peanut-free. No peanut-containing gelato is produced or scooped there.
The peanut butter pints in the freezer are made at Disney Springs and arrive prepackaged.
For families managing a peanut allergy, a dedicated peanut-free production space in a dessert shop is genuinely rare.
Be precise, though. Peanut-free does not mean allergen-free. It is a gelato shop, so dairy is everywhere, and tree nuts and gluten are present. Confirm specifics with staff rather than trusting any article, this one included.
Beyond Cups and Cones
Sundaes, shakes, floats, affogatos, and Italian pastries.
Also an edible waffle cone coffee cup, which is exactly what it sounds like.
The Location Is Deliberate
Flamingo Crossings Town Center sits directly across from housing used by Disney College Program participants.
That is thousands of young Disney employees within walking distance, working long hours, many without cars, in a spot where a place open until 10 p.m. matters.
That customer base has nothing to do with tourism, and it is there year-round.
Why Locals Should Care
The Disney Springs shop never needed a park ticket. It needed the garage, the walk, and a shopping district designed to slow you down on the way to dessert.
This one you park in front of.
No district, no crowd, no outing. Gelato, then home, possibly with a pint.
For visitors staying off property on the west side, Flamingo Crossings is also closer and simpler than driving to Disney Springs, and it currently has the tiramisu.
Both Disney locations remain open. They are just not the flagship anymore.
