Walt Disney World guests have found countless creative ways to make their vacations memorable. Matching family shirts, elaborate outfits and unique photo props are nothing new around Magic Kingdom.
A decorative porch goose walking through the gates, though? That’s a little different.
Content creator Liz recently brought her porch goose, Lucy Goosey, along for a trip to Magic Kingdom. This wasn’t simply a case of carrying the goose around the park for a funny video, either.
Lucy received her own Disney princess makeover and eventually posed for pictures in front of Cinderella Castle.
Before any of that could happen, however, the family needed to find out whether Disney World would actually allow a porch goose inside.
Disney Gets a Question Cast Members Apparently Haven’t Heard Before
Rather than arriving at security and hoping everything worked out, Liz’s husband called Walt Disney World ahead of the visit.
He wanted to confirm that bringing Lucy Goosey into Magic Kingdom wouldn’t cause an issue.
The request apparently caught the Cast Member on the phone by surprise.
“I’ve never had anyone ever ask me this before,” the Cast Member said.

Considering the thousands of unusual questions Disney employees probably receive, that reaction says quite a bit about Lucy’s vacation.
After checking ahead, the family headed to Magic Kingdom with their unusual travel companion.
Lucy successfully made it through security, although her arrival continued attracting attention. Several Cast Members reportedly said they had never seen anything like it.
Then it was time for the real reason behind the trip.
Lucy Goosey Becomes a Disney Princess
Lucy wasn’t going to pose in front of Cinderella Castle looking like an ordinary porch decoration.
The goose received a princess makeover complete with a teal ballgown and a wig featuring braids and bangs. The hairstyle resembled Anna’s familiar look from Frozen (2013).
With Lucy dressed for the occasion, the family headed toward Cinderella Castle for her photo shoot.

Liz’s sons even joined the fun. They stood on either side of Lucy wearing matching shirts reading “Princess Security.”
The resulting pictures turned a relatively simple joke into a full Disney World experience.
Liz later shared the adventure through the lizandagoose Instagram account, where the post received thousands of likes. The caption declared that dreams really do come true at Walt Disney World.
Commenters quickly joined the fun, with one person joking that Lucy would have plenty of stories to share with her fellow porch friends after returning home.
Not Your Typical Magic Kingdom Guest
Porch geese themselves aren’t a new idea. Owners have dressed the decorative statues in seasonal and holiday outfits for years.
Social media has helped introduce the tradition to another generation, with owners creating increasingly elaborate wardrobes and personalities for their geese.
Lucy simply took that tradition much farther than most.
Instead of spending the day standing beside a front door, she went through Magic Kingdom security, visited Cinderella Castle and received the complete princess treatment.
Disney World sees millions of visitors, so finding something that genuinely surprises Cast Members isn’t always easy.
Apparently, bringing a porch goose along for the vacation will do the trick.
