Disneyland Fans Should Watch December for This Popular 2027 After-Hours Event
Valentine’s Day may still be months away, but Disneyland fans who want to celebrate inside the park may want to start looking toward December.
Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite has become one of the resort’s special after-hours events, bringing exclusive entertainment, characters, food, merchandise, and photo opportunities to Disneyland Park.
Following nine event nights in early 2026, the question now turns to what Disney has planned for 2027.
Disney hasn’t officially announced the 2027 Sweethearts’ Nite schedule. However, its previous calendar and ticket-sale timeline give guests an idea of when information could arrive.
And if Disney sticks close to its recent pattern, things could start moving relatively soon.
Sweethearts’ Nite Has Stretched Beyond February
Despite its obvious connection to Valentine’s Day, Sweethearts’ Nite doesn’t necessarily begin in February.
Disneyland started its 2026 schedule on January 22, followed by additional events on January 25 and January 27.
The celebration then continued with six February dates: February 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 17.
That gave guests nine opportunities to experience the event across nearly a month.
Disney hasn’t confirmed that it will use a similar schedule for 2027. Still, anyone considering a trip specifically for Sweethearts’ Nite may want to keep late January through the middle of February in mind until Disney releases official dates.
Sweethearts’ Nite has previously run from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., with event ticket holders receiving access to Disneyland beginning at 6 p.m.
Once the regular park day transitions into the special event, guests can find experiences created specifically for Sweethearts’ Nite.
What Guests Found in 2026
Disney packed several entertainment offerings into the 2026 event.
Celebrate Love Cavalcade focused on different kinds of love, including family, friendships, and romance.
Once Upon a Dream – A Musical Journey Through the Disney Songbook featured Disney royalty and live singers, while Disney Duets brought karaoke to the Golden Horseshoe.
Guests could also visit Tomorrowland Terrace for a Valentine’s Dance Party.
Special photo backdrops were another part of the experience, with themes connected to The Aristocats (1970), Tangled(2010), Aladdin (1992), and Lady and the Tramp (1955).
Disney also offered specialty food, character meet-and-greets, and exclusive merchandise.
The 2027 lineup could look different, of course. Disney hasn’t announced which entertainment or other experiences will return.
December Could Be the Month to Watch
While the event itself could begin in January, December may be more important for anyone hoping to attend.
Disney has typically announced information about Sweethearts’ Nite in early December.
The 2026 ticket rollout also happened quickly.
Inspire Key holders received access to a limited number of presale tickets beginning December 9, 2025. All Magic Key holders received their opportunity on December 10 before general ticket sales opened December 11.
Disney hasn’t announced a 2027 sales schedule, so those dates shouldn’t be treated as a guarantee of what will happen this year.
They do, however, give prospective guests a useful timeline.
If the previous pattern continues, December could bring both the dates and ticket information for Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite 2027.
Until Disney makes the announcement, the exact schedule remains unknown. But with 2026 bringing nine nights between late January and mid-February, there is already a window worth watching.
