Anyone waiting for Landman Season 3 to arrive before the end of 2026 can officially start adjusting those expectations.
The Paramount+ drama is returning for another season, but it won’t be ready this year. Previous expectations had pointed toward a possible November 2026 return, which would have kept the series moving on a relatively quick schedule.
That’s no longer happening.
Based on the latest production update, Landman Season 3 is now expected to premiere sometime in mid-to-late 2027.
Season 3 Production Pushes Release Into 2027
The reason for the longer wait comes down to where Season 3 currently stands.
James Jordan, who plays Dale, said in late July that production was expected to begin in about a month. More recently, the series began looking for extras in the Fort Worth area for work in late September.
Production is expected to continue into early 2027.
Once filming finishes, the season will still have to work through the remainder of the production process before episodes can reach Paramount+.
Put everything together, and the previously expected November 2026 window simply doesn’t work anymore.
Paramount hasn’t announced an exact replacement date, meaning fans shouldn’t circle a particular month in 2027 just yet. For now, mid-to-late 2027 is the expected timeframe.
‘Landman’ Isn’t Canceled
There’s an important distinction in this update.
Landman hasn’t been canceled. Only its expected 2026 release is off the table.
Paramount renewed the Taylor Sheridan series for Season 3 after Season 2 became a major streaming success. Billy Bob Thornton is also expected to remain at the center of the story as Tommy Norris.
Season 2 ended on January 18, 2026, so this new timeline creates a considerably longer break before the story continues.
Season 3 is already adding new pieces, too.
Michael Kelly is joining the show as William Crockett, an industry titan who leads the world’s largest oil management firm. His arrival gives Landman another major character as the drama moves into its next chapter.
The first two seasons remain available on Paramount+ for anyone wanting to catch up—or revisit the series during what is now shaping up to be an extended hiatus.
There may not be a 2026 return anymore, but Landman Season 3 is moving ahead. The countdown has simply become much longer, with the next episodes currently expected sometime in 2027.
