Report: New ‘Spider-Man’ Release Revealed After Record-Breaking Marvel Success
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) isn’t slowing down, and the numbers prove it.
Destin Daniel Cretton’s fourth entry in Sony and Marvel Studios’ Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise has now overtaken Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) to become the third-highest-grossing film in history.
Since debuting in late July, the movie has blown past the $1 billion and $2 billion thresholds, dethroned Avengers: Endgame (2019) domestically, and surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic (1997) for fourth place worldwide. That record didn’t last. With a new worldwide total of $2.337 billion, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now nudged past Avatar: The Way of Water‘s $2.334 billion, taking the outright #3 spot on the all-time chart by a razor-thin margin.
That leaves just two films standing between Spider-Man: Brand New Day and the top of the mountain: Avengers: Endgame ($2.797 billion) and Avatar ($2.923 billion). It’s a steep climb, but given the film’s trajectory, nobody’s counting it out yet.
The milestone is a huge win for Sony and Marvel, cementing Spider-Man as one of the most reliable box office draws in the business. The cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Fans wanting to own the film now have a date: physical copies (4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and DVD) arrive November 17, 2026, according to the HD Report. A digital release should come sooner, with industry patterns pointing to a window between October 6 and October 20.
Collectors get options. A Limited Edition SteelBook sits at the top, while the Collector’s Edition bundles a SteelBook with a custom comic, a relic card, and a magnetic lenticular cover. Standard 4K Blu-ray/Digital, Blu-ray/Digital, and DVD editions round out the release.
Holland’s Big Year
Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t the only hit in Holland’s corner this year. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (2026), still playing in theaters, has grossed $1.557 billion globally — a number that also boosts co-stars Zendaya and Bernthal. Between the two films, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest years any actor has had at the box office.
The real test comes in December. The Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three both open December 18, and either could shuffle the all-time rankings again before 2026 wraps. For now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains the box office story of the year — and its climb up the charts shows no signs of stopping.
