While The Mandalorian & Grogu underperformed at the box office this year, Disney and Lucasfilm are not done with the franchise. Now, a new project takes the story in a very different direction, bringing Din Djarin, Grogu, and a host of characters back in a new way.

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, which has just landed on Disney+, revisits all three seasons of The Mandalorian rather than continuing the story established by this year’s theatrical movie. The special features both returning performers and new actors taking over familiar roles.
Among the recast characters is the Client, the mysterious figure played by Werner Herzog in the first season of The Mandalorian, with Flula Borg now voicing the character.
Gavin Hammon also replaces Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, while Eric Bauza takes over Luke Skywalker from Mark Hamill. Carl Lumbly voices Greef Karga, replacing the late Carl Weathers.
But despite those recastings, the special also brings back several original actors, including. Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, Nick Nolte as Kuiil, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Taika Waititi as IG-11, and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.
Cara Dune, however, is notably absent. The character was played by Gina Carano in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian before the actress was fired in 2021 for sharing divisive social media posts. Now, Lucasfilm has removed Dune from the LEGO short rather than recasting the role.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+.
