Disney+ Sets September Date for ‘Toy Story 5’

Disney and Pixar announced on their Instagram accounts that Toy Story 5 (2026) will officially stream on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The announcement included a short video featuring Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Lilypad, and Smarty Pants celebrating the news. Lilypad’s screen displays “Hi! Let’s play!” during the clip.

The Disney+ debut comes a little more than three months after the movie opened in theaters on June 19, 2026.

Toy Story 5 (2026) also includes Taylor Swift’s song “I knew it, I knew you,” adding another major name to the Pixar sequel.

Fans don’t necessarily have to wait until September 23 to watch from home, however.

Disney made the movie available for digital purchase on August 18. A physical Blu-ray edition will follow on September 22. That means the Blu-ray arrives only one day before Disney+ subscribers can access the movie on the streaming service.

Those releases give audiences several options, but the Disney+ arrival comes after the sequel has already accomplished something much bigger in theaters.

Toy Story 5 (2026) didn’t need streaming to find an audience.

The Pixar sequel earned approximately $1.1 billion worldwide, making it one of the biggest theatrical successes of 2026.
