Epic Universe has barely entered its second year, and Universal Orlando Resort is already preparing to make two of its most popular worlds look very different.
The changes aren’t new rides or permanent replacements. Instead, Universal is expanding the park’s holiday celebration into areas that didn’t receive the same treatment during Epic Universe’s first Christmas season.
Beginning this November, both SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will receive their first holiday transformations.
Epic Universe’s Holidays Are Getting Bigger
Universal Orlando’s holiday season begins November 14, 2026, and continues through January 3, 2027.
Epic Universe participated in the resort-wide festivities during its inaugural year, but much of the attention centered around Celestial Park. Universal created a cosmic winter atmosphere for the park’s central world, complete with decorations designed around the area’s distinctive architecture.
That experience will return this year, including twinkling trees and holiday-themed fountain displays at the Cosmos Fountain.
But Universal isn’t stopping there.
For 2026, Christmas will spread farther into Epic Universe as two additional worlds join the celebration.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Gets a Holiday Makeover
For the first time, Universal will decorate SUPER NINTENDO WORLD for the holidays.
Universal hasn’t revealed exactly what those decorations will include, leaving plenty about the transformation under wraps for now.
The land already offers one of Epic Universe’s most colorful environments. Guests are surrounded by Question Blocks, coins, characters, moving elements, and larger-than-life scenery inspired by Nintendo’s games.
Adding seasonal elements could completely change the atmosphere without altering what makes the land so recognizable.
Universal has also said additional holiday details are coming, so guests may learn more about the transformation as November approaches.
Snoggletog Arrives in Isle of Berk
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk is also getting its first holiday makeover, and this one has a direct connection to the franchise.
Universal has confirmed Snoggletog is coming to the land.
Snoggletog is the winter holiday celebrated by the Vikings of Berk in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. That gives Universal an opportunity to build its seasonal decorations around the land’s existing story rather than simply adding traditional Christmas décor.
Universal hasn’t confirmed special entertainment, seasonal character costumes, food, or other Snoggletog experiences yet. For now, holiday decorations are the major confirmed addition.
Still, the change should make Isle of Berk feel noticeably different for returning guests.
Epic Universe opened in May 2025, and Universal is already building on what guests experienced during its first holiday season.
With SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Isle of Berk joining Celestial Park’s returning celebration, Christmas at Epic Universe is about to become much bigger in year two.
