Disney World Arrest: Man Slams Child Into Bathroom Stall “Several Times”

Disney World is meant to be the happiest and most magical place on earth for families, but a disturbing report out of Magic Kingdom this week is a stark reminder that not every visit goes the way it should.

Orange County deputies arrested 38-year-old Justin Taylor at Magic Kingdom Park earlier this week following allegations that he physically abused a child inside a park restroom. The arrest will have no doubt left many visitors shaken, especially given how many families pass through the park’s restrooms every single day without a second thought.

Per an arrest affidavit cited by Click Orlando, a witness reported hearing Taylor yelling at the child before slamming the child against the wall of a bathroom stall “several minutes.” The witness told deputies they later noticed blood on the restroom floor, and said they heard Taylor tell the child, “You slipped and fell.”

Taylor was taken into custody on Monday during what should have been an ordinary theme park outing. When questioned by authorities, he offered a different account of events, telling deputies that he had simply been trying to move past the child inside the stall so he could use the bathroom himself, and that the child slipped, causing the injury that produced the blood on the floor.

At this stage, several details remain unconfirmed, including exactly where in the Magic Kingdom the incident occurred, how the child is currently doing, and whether other family members were present during the visit. As is often the case with ongoing investigations, more information, including court proceedings and any sentencing, is expected to come out in the days ahead.

Stories like this understandably hit hard for anyone who considers Disney parks a safe haven for their own kids. It’s a good reminder to stay alert and to speak up if you ever witness something concerning during your own visit.

He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
