Disney World Launches New Muppets Addition at Hollywood Studios on August 11
The Muppets have been at Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever, but where they live keeps changing.
For decades, they lived on the Streets of America, which was later renamed Muppets Courtyard after the Streets of America became Star Wars: Galaxy Edge. Quiet, a little offbeat, the kind of corner regulars sought out on purpose. That area is now closed for good, having been converted into a Monsters, Inc. area.
The Muppets did not leave, though. They relocated. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets put them on Sunset Boulevard, which is a much bigger stage than a tucked-away courtyard ever was.
Disney is running with it. And Annual Passholders get the benefit.
Walt Disney World has announced a set of Kermit the Frog offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, exclusively for Passholders. This is the first-ever Muppet Passholder magnet.
Dates and Hollywood Studios Location
Everything runs from August 11 through September 24.
The Kermit magnet is at Mickey Shorts Theater, park open to park close, while supplies last.
Take that last part seriously. Passholder magnets go fast, and a Muppets one is going to move faster than most. If the magnet is why you are going, go early in the window.

What to Bring
You have to be there in person. No sending someone else.
Bring your valid Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand or MagicBand+, or MagicMobile pass, plus a government-issued photo ID.
The Hollywood Studios Magic Shot
There is a Passholder-exclusive PhotoPass Magic Shot, too.
Find it near the end of Hollywood Boulevard, close to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You hold a banjo prop, and Kermit gets added to the photo afterward. If you know the Muppets, you know exactly what moment that is referencing.
To access it, pull up your Annual Pass ID in the “Tickets and Passes” section of My Disney Experience and have a government-issued photo ID ready.
Watch the hours here. The magnet is available all day. The Magic Shot is a six-hour window. Plan around the shorter one.
The Milkshake
Dockside Diner has the Key Lime Kermit Milk Shake. Vanilla Ice Cream, Key Lime Cake Crumbs, Key Lime Sauce, and Sprinkles.
Passholders need their valid Annual Pass ID in the My Disney Experience app, plus a photo ID to buy it.
Key lime is a smart pick. Gets you the green without dumping in food coloring, and it actually holds up in August heat, which is more than a lot of seasonal items can claim.
Why Now
All of this follows the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
That reimagining moved the characters onto Sunset Boulevard and gave them placement they never had. Muppets Courtyard was beloved, but you had to go looking for it. Sunset Boulevard is a main artery, and everyone who heads toward the Tower of Terror walks right past.
So the timing tracks. New headliner attraction, decades of goodwill behind the characters, and a Passholder program that is a natural way to keep the momentum going through late summer.
Doing All Three in One Day at Hollywood Studios
Here is the practical route.
Mickey Shorts Theater for the magnet, open to close.
Hollywood Boulevard near Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway for the Magic Shot, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dockside Diner on Echo Lake for the milkshake, easy to work into either trip.
All three sit in the front half of the park, so you are not crossing back and forth all day.
Keep your pass and photo ID handy at every stop. All three require verification, and having the app already open to Tickets and Passes speeds things up at the Magic Shot in particular.
The Dates Again
August 11 to September 24.
Six weeks sounds generous, but the magnet is limited while supplies last, and that is the piece most likely to vanish first.
For Passholders who grew up on the Muppets and watched Muppets Courtyard close, this lands as a decent consolation. The characters are still around; they are on a bigger stage now, and there is finally a magnet for it.
