Police Rush to Disney’s Pop Century Resort Following Reports of Violence Overnight

Law enforcement was called to one of Walt Disney World Resort‘s busiest Value Resort hotels in the middle of the night. The overnight battery call brought deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to Disney’s Pop Century Resort while most of the property’s guests were asleep.

At 1:21 a.m. on August 3, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call classifying the incident at Disney’s Pop Century Resort as “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone).” Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime logged the response on X (formerly known as Twitter):

Where exactly on the Pop Century Resort property the altercation took place isn’t clear from the scanner data. The Google Maps pin reflects the generalized resort address law enforcement uses for calls at the property rather than a confirmed incident location.

Neither the Orange County Sheriff’s Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has commented on the incident. The identities of those involved, the severity of any injuries, and whether anyone was arrested or banned from Walt Disney World Resort property in the aftermath are all unknown. If a police report is filed or criminal charges are pursued, additional details may eventually surface.

Operations at Disney’s Pop Century Resort Look Normal

Despite the overnight law enforcement response, Disney’s Pop Century Resort is operating normally as the day gets underway. Guest amenities are available, and bus and Disney Skyliner service to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs is running on its regular schedule.
